Yeah i don't buy this either, Gasol is not going to keep shooting the lights out all game, I mean he's no LMA. That Spurs game still pisses me off, I would say tho that overall we are not firing like we were 10 or so games ago, I'd really like to see an upturn in aggression and focus from here on, maybe guys are tired, I think Donovan looks a little tired, but we really need to close out the season strong. Maybe we drop the Portland game but we should win every other one. Did anyone have us winning 48 games at the start of the season?

Yeah, they look kind of gassed. I'm not really surprised because they've been playing at a high emotional level for a while now and that is sometimes as burning as physical exhaustion. That said, I only see two real problem games in the future with Minn. and PDX. If they finish 4-2, the Jazz will be golden.

DVR'ed the game so I can watch and re-watch Exum on every play and provide my analysis of him.

Deleted it off the DVR. No need to go through play by play as I watched it live basically and have already said the kid looked great. Kid's shot looks so much smoother. Obviously the ball going in makes it feel that way even more so but even coming out of his hand, it looked more natural, like he was an actual shooter and not some spaz flicking it up to the rim with that awkward hitch he had had. It also seemed like he was very decisive (which I love) both in transition and passing and on defense. I saw the Kobe killer instinct we had all heard about. He just absolutely sprinted up the court, as if he knew he was simply faster and more explosive than everyone else. And it was awesome to see. I want a killer like that.

Now, in those moments, you could see some issues with his handle. Nothing bad really happened last night, but he's moving so damn fast and his stride is so damn long that it's difficult to weave and zig and zag very easily, and so when a guy would begin to attempt to get in his way or defend him, he had to adjust mid-dribble. That's very difficult to do at max speed with that long stride and long/high dribble like he has. Like I said, nothing bad happened, but you can still see he needs to tighten up that dribble. Big time. Because in other games, against better opponents, bad things will happen. He just needs to minimize those moments. His handle's definitely improved though. If he can continue to improve it and develop his body over the next few years like Hayward did, **** me. Dude could be legit.

Another issue I saw, which a lot of NBA players have, is with his ability to get through screens, either by fighting through them, reading the play right, or having a more clear sense of urgency in that moment. It's not a huge concern but it's something to work on.

Right now, I'm on top of the ****ing world. Seriously.

Now, we have to see it consistently. He's not a little kid anymore. He's been in the league four years and injury or not, should feel like he belongs and that he has to make his mark. Sadly, Rubio will be returning and so his playing time will be more limited but I am very excited to watch the remainder of the games this season and really hope he can get about 18-20 minutes a game and continue to kill it.

Body is number 1 for me. IMO another injury would be far and away the biggest deterrent to his success. DM is so sturdy that when he has a collision I feel bad for the other guy. When Exum tumbles, especially considering the speed at which he can travel, that slenderman physique of his is bound for trouble.

He used to be my favorite jazz player to watch. That killer instinct is gone. I still remember his gave vs LBJ's Heat where he went nuts, and forced LBJ to want to guard him, and AB killed him too. I want that AB back!!

Just another ****** performance by the Jazz. Had it not been for the Grizz resting Gasol in the 4th it would have been another game -and loss - like the one against the Hawks. Mitchell again gets his points but is very inefficient. He's more like Carmelo than DWade right now. Just plain unwatchable (except for Dante). Keep this up and the Jazz have a better chance of running the table in a negative fashion than challenging for the 4th seed.

Haven't read this thread yet. But is that the most egregious tanking yet? How can the NBA allow that. Sitting a guy that is hotter than the sun, out of fear they would win. They shouldn't be allowed to hide behind 'giving young guys experience' - because in most cases those guys aren't part of their long term plans. Heck they had two guys consistently out there who were on 10 day contracts!!

One of those 10 day contracts did put up 24 points though.

Problem is he went to a mickey mouse franchise in the NJ Nets and no one pushed him to condition himself like a professional athlete. He ended up out of the league for years - learned a hard lesson.

I seem to recall him thinking he was going to be the next Kobe to the point he tried to emulate his game instead of just being himself like he was obsessed with Kobe.
