What's new

Stephen Jackson calls out Utah fans now.

Smoking to me isn't a big thing but it is clearly against the league rules and he bragged about using it. Like a guy bragging about speeding every day and never getting a ticket.

Who here has smoked weed before an organized game? I remember one time in my early 20s in a rec league with refs, our whole team smoked some weed in the parking lot before the game. It was like a comedy of errors. Our coordination was way out of sync.

I think I hear what you are saying. But I dont think everyone who uses those terms does it because they are evil are racist. Most of the time probably out of ignorance. But maybe ignorance can be evil.

Just because you don’t mean something in a certain way doesn’t mean it isn’t received in a certain way. There are some PC things that have gone too far, and in reality you’re allowed to speak as you please, but there are consequences to your actions. Calling guys thugs, or other related terms that you may not see the same connotation they do to those terms, doesn’t really matter. I can guarantee you every guy on the Jazz bench attatches that same negative meaning to them and truly doesn’t like it. Just don’t be stupid, it’s such a horrible look.

Ok, a few things:

-I think Elfrid Payton’s hair is ridiculous and I would take every chance I had to taunt him about it during a game if given the opportunity. Does that make me a racist? Because honestly, I don’t really know anymore. For a frame of reference, I think The Bird Man has always had really stupid hair do’s and would also taunt him if given the chance. It seems like nowadays, a white guy cant tease a black guy about a REALLY stupid hair do without somebody inferring racism. Which is really sad/stupid
.
You are probably a racist judging from how little you seem to understand about racism.

Literally everyone has made fun of Elfrid Payton's hair and no one thinks it's racist to do so. You are just being facetious and it makes you look like an *******/racist.

Stephen Jackson would go to shoot around, then go home (early afternoon) and smoke weed to take a nap, then go to the game. He wasn't literally smoking weed 30 minutes before tip.

-In the age of iPhones, social media, and instant EVERYTHING, please show us something when you decide to deride an entire fan base of being racist. If it’s going on at the level that Jackson and Westbrook are saying, that ***** on video somewhere. Let’s get it out there and actually get some merit behind your ugly accusations.

You are aware players cant pop out their iphone in the middle of the game, right?

Westbrook and Steven Jackson never really grew up. Like kids always do, they generalize, I don't particularly listen or care about what they have to say. There have been plenty of players complimentary of our fan base. Kids are easily provoked. If Westbrook had played a series vs another team and lost and a fan stuck a camera in his face he and Jackson would've done the same generalization to that teams fans.

But everyone and their mothers have one nowadays. It would be super easy to find proof of something so "common" with the proliferance of recording devices and their use, but all we have is hearsay at the moment.

Not necessarily and I dont think that's sound logic. What's the general response here? Being offended that Utah is being attacked. Maybe people have had things recorded, but didnt post them because they didnt want the negative stereotype to have evidence.

I love how you supposedly can't use terms like thug or ghetto in case you can hurt someone, but accusing someone of being racist is A-OK.
