What's new

Stephen Jackson calls out Utah fans now.

The smoking weed thing is a non issue for me, there's been former jazz players that I'm sure have done it. Stephen Jackson is /was also a known member of the bloods, doesn't have the best of credibility with me .
Smoking to me isn't a big thing but it is clearly against the league rules and he bragged about using it. Like a guy bragging about speeding every day and never getting a ticket.

Using the term “thug” for guys who aren’t really thugs is a pretty bad look to. A dirty player does not equate to a thug.
Totally agree, but Stephen Jackson is the definition of a thug lol (should say was because he seems like a different person now at least in the interviews I've listened with Russillo or Cowered) . Calling a guy like Westbrook a thug, I would call out that person.

He was a gang member.

Haha

Seems as though you might need a primer on the current cultural do's and dont's when it comes to anyone not white male. Whether you agree with it or not, or knew it or not, there a bunch of words that are now offensive. The PC police and social justice warriors will have your head, job, and anything else they can take from you. "Thug" is essentially the N word now. Dont say "thats ghetto" either. There are many more too. Even something "inner city" is not ok.

Any idiot knows it's plain stupid to drop the N-bomb, but in no way does that mean the issue at hand is dealt with.

Like any pathogen, evil adapts to survive and maintain its virulence.

I think I hear what you are saying. But I dont think everyone who uses those terms does it because they are evil are racist. Most of the time probably out of ignorance. But maybe ignorance can be evil.

For sure. Ignorance is the vehicle of evil, in my mind. The root of it, but certainly not the apex of it.

I think it's important and good we have these conversations, and I think it's important to consider that whatever our perceptions, they deserve (re)examining.
