A lot of the stuff I know I learned from jazzfanz. One thing is for sure. I've learned more from jazzfanz then I have from the Dalai Lama. Does this make jazzfanz greater then the Dalai Lama?

Well, the Dalai Lama is a God-King over a slave state. So it's all relative.

Two people who, over the past year, I’ve gotten a sense they’re much, much older than I initially thought:

1. @mellow
2. Thee jazz fan.

I got rick rolled by this thread before anyone had commented. Made me laugh, then made me wonder how Rick Rolling on the internet ever started.

The history of rickrolking according to Wikipedia is quite interesting. Sadly it is not very lucrativelucrative.

"According to The Register, as of 2010, Astley had only directly received $12 in performance royalties from YouTube. Although by that time the song had been played 39 million times, Astley did not compose the song and received only a performer's share of the sound recording copyright."

With age comes wisdom ... seriously ... actually, there's a point of diminishing returns like the law in economics where your sharpness begins to decline but, at least for me, I see the connections between things better, which you could say is the wisdom of experience, of aging. This is not to say that you don't make the same mistakes time and again -- that's a function of emotions which can be difficult to overcome.
