Mitchell injury

Didn't see a thread on this.

Any specifics on this yet? I read it was a foot injury (and he's walking around in a flip flop smfh) but saw nothing else.

He hurt it in the 4th quarter, looked painful. He was limping around, and as you stated he was driven back to the bench with a flip flop. It looked to be the left one, specifically.

Welp, that's what the doctor said I'm pretty sure.

He did say something about the injury being a blessing in disguise to give him a little break from basketball(since he's OCD) so it's nothing serious but he probably wouldn't of played game 6 or 7 just judging off that.

Probably an aggravation of the same injury that he suffered against OKC when his foot was stepped on. Painful but not serious. I don't recall him mentioning anything about the injury in his exit interview, so he must be fine.

He said in one interview today that it was going to be fine, that he was wearing the walking boot as a precaution.

Wonder if it is something like plantar fasciitis. I am dealing with that right now and it sucks. There are days I can barely stand. If he tore his plantar fascia that could be a month or more to rehab, and it would hurt like hell to walk on. I am so impressed with this kid the way he tried to get back on the floor. He is going to bring us a championship one day. We haven't had a player with this level of drive since the Stockton/Malone days, if ever.

I wonder if he got a contusion or something when his foot got landed on, and then aggravated it. I dropped a piece of furniture on the top-outside bones of my foot when i was a furniture mover. Didn't cause any lasting damage but the contusion made trivial things suck for a week or two, couldn't imagine trying to play basketball on a deep foot contusion.

I had that for a few months last year. What a bitch. I bought compression socks and a nighttime boot and inserts and did all the exercises..... it finally went away.
FWIW I think the shoe inserts (dr prescribed them) and the nighttime boot helped the most

I'm sure he will be fine but his injury was probably worse than reported. He is still in a walking boot. I assume it's mostly precautionary but still surprising.

He bruised his toe in the OKC series then bruised it again in Houston. There is a lot of swelling and ****, and it's really easy to hurt those things again. It's like when you jam your finger then it becomes really easy to jam it again. The boot just prevents someone from accidentally stepping on it and hurting it, or running into something with it.

As he and the team said. The boot is precautionary. I’m sure his toe never fully healed and when t got stomped out and stubbed again in the Houston series it needed some time to heal. It hasn’t even been that long since the end of the season, he’s just protecting it. He’s also usually not in it. Nothing to worry about, and good on him for continuing to protect it and let it heal and following what they asked him to do, cause it seems like he’d actually do fine without it seeing as he isn’t wearing it all the time.

He is fine. He hurt his finger, but it has been taken care of. Coach Snyder cut the finger clean off and told him to give him 30. We aren't the Rockets who fly 15 feet across the court every time a fan in the stands sneezes. We are the Jazz, where we stand our ground like men and play through injuries when we can. I heard Nike is making a NBA skirt designed specifically for Harden for the 2019 season. I also heard that they are making a high heel version of his designer sneaker that he is also expected to wear.
