The Missing Piece

I think we might just be a big two and fill in with other mediums that can act big in different situations.

Ibaka is somewhat interesting. Toronto is weird with their minutes. They like to split them up with their bigs. Maybe that wore on Ibaka. If we picked him up and got old Ibaka that would be a hell of a pick up.

I feel like no one watches teams outside the Jazz sometimes... Wiggins, Ibaka, these guys are pretty terrible and their contracts are horrible.

I have convinced myself more Rubio is the 3rd piece and we should keep this team intact unless we can land a big name elite player.

I prefer Favors to Harris.

I think I convinced you Favors over Harris. Ive been saying this all along. You have been running around all day like a chicken with its head cut off digging up stats and doing research. You could have just trusted my educated guesses to come to the same conclusion. How long before you jump on board the Super Mario train? If stats make you feel better you can look into what he has done this last season when he played sufficient consistent minutes vs inconsistent lowsy minutes. Im too lazy to do it, and you are much better at it.

Also part of the problem with pursuing Harris is you having to give up Favors. So you arent just spending what you need to get Harris.

Id take Favors over Harris straight up. So I sure as hell dont want to be giving away firsts for that switch. Thats bad basketball GMing

Just look at this before you keep talking about Favors being injured:

In the 2017-18 playoffs, Favors played 26.3 mpg against the Clippers and 10.3 mpg against GS. In this year's playoffs, Favors played 33 mpg against OKC and 18 mpg against Houston. There is a reason why he is playing less minutes. You can blame injury, but if he was injured, he wouldn't have been playing at least 13 minutes every game against Houston which he did. You can blame injuries last year, but he got hurt enough to play 10 mpg after just playing 30 mpg?

Player excuses around here get ridiculous. Favors is an 8 year pro. He isn't going to turn into Paul Millsap tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe, he can turn into a Serge Ibaka type. But odds are, if he hasn't shown signs by now, he probably isn't going to take those steps.

I want Favors here because Mitchell wants him here. As for competing against Houston and Golden State, he isn't as essential as another versatile wing or a PF who can score.

I'm okay with Hezonja for a cheap deal but I think he gets offered too much. But he is worth risk is cheap. High reward/low risk.

As far as Favors goes, I've been preaching about him not stop.

No, I didnt watch Ibaka much. Thats why I qualified my statement and it wasnt my idea either

I know others mentioned it... just used your reply.

He’s not good and they’d drive his *** to the airport if we’d take his contract.

I agree with some of this, but he does have some value. Its just depends on what he wants to be paid. He does have nice games for us. If he wants 20 million a year for 4 years then heck no. Its got to be lower.

Yep, he was injured. Did you not pay any attention to the playoffs? Favors got hurt and wasnt going to play but he gutted through and played 15 min a game the last two. He was much better than Gobert those games. He didn't sit because of fitting with Gobert or not being playable against Houston.

Facts are Favors and Gobert can play together very well. They always have. I've shown the stats.

Favors was great this post season again.

Keeping Favors would be big, but I dont want to break the bank for him, but if we lost him our record defense would really suffer. Its nice having him as a back up center and for when Gobert goes down. Its not just about him playing the 4. Its another reason why I dont want to let him go for some overpaid 3 and/or undersized 4.

I think you start the offseason seeing what you can work out with Favors. You see if you can come to a reasonable deal. Then go from there. I would love Aaron Gordon, but I highly doubt the magic dont match. They are dumb, but they have to be feeling the fan base pressure after making so many mistakes. Hezonja being the most recent.

I have no idea what Hezonja is going to command. So Im not sure if you have to lose Favors and/or Exum for him. Although he is intriguing enough for me that I might think about it. Ideally you get all 3 and move some of those other crappy deals we got.

What is cheap? I'd offer Hezonja the MLE and give it a go. Too little?

Also, I dictated Hezonja to voice recognition, and it wrote "he's on you".

Don't know who the Jazz need, but I'd hate to see Favors go. I disagree that Derrick and Rudy don't play well together. I have no idea why Favors needs to shoot threes, though. He's the only guy on the Jazz that can play with his back to the basket. We need more of that.

I don't want DL to mess too much with the chemistry of this team.
