Wow...

So if we already have Harris for at least 2 more years (with all his NBA savyness and experience)... why are we picking Knight at #3 again?

Because, of course, similar measurements mean they play the exact same way, right?

Ok, I can see there's no fooling you.. so here's a quote from BTS instead:

This keeps coming up with Jazz's No. 3, 12 picks: Utah can find another PG or SG at 12 if Jazz pass on Walker, Knight. But there's not another Kanter on the board, in terms of his size, shooting skill, youth and potential. O'Connor is big on length, size and interior depth. Easier to get a SG via trade/signing than drafting a "special" young center at No. 3.

Take from it what you may...

I can't believe anyone thinks this video is worth anything. Like watching a racehorse trot and projecting how fast it will run.

I mean, if you want to make the argument that Kanter will be better than Knight, that's one thing, but arguing to not draft Knight because he has similar measurements to Devin Harris is quite another.

It's like twins taking different paths later in life.. of course they can develop differently..

Would I take him? Yes. At #3? No.

Knight is already a much better shooter than Harris.

Devin Harris: 44% FG career, 42.2% FG last season (NBA)
Brandon Knight: 42.3% FG (college)

Devin Harris: 80% FT career, 83% FT last season (NBA)
Brandon Knight: 79% FT (college)

They also shot the same percentage from the college three (37%).

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't understand why you would say that Knight is a "much better" shooter. Can you explain?

I thought maybe Knight got better as the season went on, but I checked his last 5 games and he shot 32%. In the 5 games before that he shot 34%. It seems like he got progressively worse.

I know he had some Sundiata Gaines moments, but so did Sundiata Gaines.

I think Knight has greater upside than Harris, and will reach his potential. I also believe it will take him a couple years of adjustment. I'd take Knight in the 6 - 8 range ... but wouldn't be 'upset' if the Jazz decided to take him at three, just because I wouldn't.
