Following Potential 2018 Draftees

****, I may be on board with Okobo too.

I think he'd be the only guy I'd try and move into the teens to take if DL is convinced.

I like a lot of the other guys, but I'm not personally convinced KBD is a whole lot better prospect than Josh Okogie... so give me one or the other and I'm cool. I like Okobo more than that.

Do you guys ever think of a comparison while watching a prospect and the comparison just feels dead on to you?

I felt that way last year about Lauri Markkanen. I kept seeing him get Dirk and Kristaps comparisons. But I felt like he was extremely similar to Memo Okur. I feel like that has been pretty accurate.

This year I got one that feels accurate for Marvin Bagley. People are comparing him to AD, Garnett, Bosh. I see him being similar to K-Mart, Kenyon Martin.

I just have a feeling okobo is going to be that rookie, like Mitchell and kuzma, who is dropping 30 in multiple SL games and everybody will be wishing he was their rookie.

He's the one guy (of the guys commonly mocked after out pick) that I do not think will be there. I could see him going anywhere from 12-19... doubt Washington will take him, but wouldn't be surprised at any of the others. I would have a hard time taking SGA over him if I'm drafting a PG... I don't think there are many GMs with the stones to pass on Sexton for him, but I would.

I need a nap.

One thing I've noticed watching Okobo vids, is that he seems really comfortable tossing lobs/keeping passes high coming out of the pick and roll. I think this is an underrated ability considering potential fit playing with Rudy, and definitely something that caused some trouble with Rubio early in the season. If you watch some of his pnr passing highlights, it really looks like his passing is tailor-made to play with Gobert.

I like Okobo a lot last year but as far as needs go PG is not a huge need but BPA he might be it.

My biggest concern with Okobo is his 3 pt shot is slow. He has to gather himself to shoot it and his release point is a little low.

I see it too... not quite a hitch but like a weird shift in the motion... like its a 2-3 step process and one of the steps isn't lined up or timed right.

Yeah, he's strong-arming it and over accentuating his release. He needs more support from his legs and his arms should me more relaxed. He should also start with the ball further in front of him instead of raising it tightly in front of his body. Needs some work.

He's basically too stiff.

The real question is who isn't on Okobo train and why?

Yeah, Okobo looks like a nice, clean, efficient guard. Moves very efficiently, shoots with a compact, consistent release, can get over the rim, has enough shift and hesitation. Nice player.

I think he flings it a bit. He catches and drops slow and then seems to go at a different speed as he pushes the shot up and releases it... it's just not super smooth. I'm more concerned with his athletic deficiencies than shot though.

I really like the idea of Exum/Okobo/Mitchell positionless backcourt minutes.

I think Exum should work hard on his body and try to be a defensive, athletic wing like Andre Iguodala. He can handle on some plays. He just doesn't look like a natural lead guard to me. Let him be a slasher on the wing.

Curious this guy thinks that Donte DiVincenzo is the perfect fit for the Jazz

I think the Jazz are in a position where they could use depth at every position besides center or true non-shooting PG. So a lot of players could be considered great fits, including Donte. He does cover the Jazz's need for shooting.

I'm more impressed with the Okobo footage they posted and the production. He looks like he might have a decent wingspan... anyone seen a reliable measurement. I think Okobo has a higher ceiling and floor than Simons and that Simons is riding mystery hype.

Simons is a fluid and natural offensive player with good touch. As he matures, he could be like a young Jamal Crawford. Offensive flashes always get people excited. Question is whether he can defend and play on the ball as a combo guard.

Hayward was NBA ready from the start lmao. He dropped a 34 point game his rookie year.

Yeah, he was an absolute stud playing 16.9 mpg scoring 5.4ppg over 72 games his rookie year. So really, if he had a 34 point game, then he was even worse in the other 71 games he played his rookie year. Man, we should have tried to find a way to get Charlotte to max him after that record breaking season. #halloffamenumbers

Keep trolling troll boy. Keep trolling.

Some people compare him to Dennis Schroeder for some reason. I think he looks a lot better than Schoeder during pre-draft.

They are both foreign and black so they must be the same... right?

Just like how Huerter and Hayward are the same...

I see zero similarities. Since he's a lefty I keep seeing Mike Conley, but the D-Will comp on the ringer makes some sense. IDK... he seems to get where he wants and can score at all three levels. I just know I like him.
