Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Am I the only one that feels that some NBA fans are too obsessed with finding players that "fit today's NBA"? I mean of course it would be nice to be able to match up and play the same way that the Warriors or Rockets do, but is it even possible to matchup and replicate what they do? They succeed because they have elite players in their system, in their style of play, not because of their style of play. Teams try to matchup and fail.

I see some NBA fans say "x prospect doesn't fit today's NBA". But does that really matter if he's a good prospect? Today's NBA might not be the same tomorrow. 10-20 years ago it was game driven by big men. Nowadays it's perimeter oriented. It could change again. Things ebb and flow depending on who the best teams are. I just feel like if a prospect is a good prospect then you find a way to make the player fit.

Totally, it's a blanket statement i see used more now than ever. 9 outa 10 times it's being completely misused too.

I don’t think the nba is going to slow down and become dominated again by big lumbering physical players. M

The rules have changed and so have the athletes. The game is much quicker today because you can no longer grab and handcheck out on the perimeter and yesterday’s best athletes are today’s average athletes.

It’s the same reason why the running game isn’t ever coming back to the nfl. Rules for what corners can do to receivers have changed making it much easier to pass and the athletes are just too damn good.

The present and future of the nba is all about speed and spacing.

Maybe so. I just don't think that that necessarily means that certain players don't or can't fit. There's this idea going around that bigs can't win, that you can't win if you build your team around a big. I don't buy that.

I think if you build your team around big slow unathletic bigs you’re going to have your *** handed to you in today’s fast nba.

Teams like the jazz, warriors, and rockets thrive when they can pick on slow *** bigs like Kanter, Zbo, Klove, Griffin, Gasol, etc.

Could you imagine what we’d do if playing against Bradley? Hed be put into every pick and roll and isolated on a switch against a guard. Bbq chicken
