What Jan Vesely?

I don't think Favors alone can be our defensive stopper. I think he's a clear notch above what we've had there for a while, but Bismack could be a huge boost. If we are going to try to make a real title run, then we need more than just one defensive stud.

Sap/Big Al + Favors/Bismack does make a lot of sense to me.
With those big men we'd have the scoring, and the defense/athleticism.

Draft Express on Vesely's defense:

Vesely often spearheads Partizan’s full-court press and sees minutes at the top of the key in the their triangle formation in the half-court as well, constantly harassing the ball-handler with his terrific size, length and athleticism, putting in a great effort, and coming up with plenty of blocks and steals in the process.

I think it's a bit unfair to call Vesely only a dunker. If you look at his stats, he is scoring 10-20 points in 10-20 minutes. He obviously has some sort of offensive IQ to get these easy baskets.
 
Jan Vesely seems like the European Blake Griffin, to me atleast, well Vesely is a better three-point shooter, but Griffin is a better free-throw shooter.

This season he averaged 10 points in 26 minutes. He is probably averaging more in the playoffs, but overall even the defensive center Jonas V outscores him radically on a per minutes basis.
 
What I do like about Vesley is that from all accounts he is a passionate player and gives a damn. Maybe I put too much stock into that, but to me it's an important trait. I don't think of myself as an AK basher, but there are times when it looks like he just doesn't care out there, or seems to care more about making a flashy pass than making the correct play.

AK lost his fire. When he plays with passion, he's pretty good.
 
Vesely has his flaws, but his athleticism is top 1%. Personally, I look at him like Josh Smith. I'd definitely draft him 3 if I was sure he would be Josh Smith.

He's not going to give you a lot of offense early, but he's an energy player.
