A little more meat on the bone in that video compared to Knight video. Here it was some 3 on 3 action. Looks to me from this video that Jimmer can shoot...
The best scenario at 12 would still be either Biyombo or Burks slipping for the Jazz....unless Montiejunas shows he has some motor between now and the draft.
I have been a sorta Jimmer fan, as far as picking him at 12. To be honest, the more I see of him in drills against other prospects, the more I think he is for real. He wont be there at 12 now anyway, so no drama at least.
But I think he'll struggle in the NBA for the following reasons:
- I don't think he'll be fast enough to drive pass players to the rim
- It's no secret he struggles finishing at the rim in college
- so I think defenders will just play him on his jumper and with the athleticism of NBA players I think he might have a problem getting his shots off - let alone making them.
You see it a little bit in that video where he's 1 on 1, he ended up having to settling for his jumper and fading away.
I think he needs that driving/off the dribble game to the hole to keep defenders honest (Hayward was able to thrive last year because he had that drive and dunk game as well as his 3pt range).
If he cannot do that I think he might struggle with his outside shot.
Actually this is a complete fallacy. Jimmer is EXCELLENT at finishing at the rim. He is very skilled in using his body to shield defenders. Now, if you are saying he doesn't have Jeremy Evans hops, to be a finisher, then you are correct. But that doesn't mean he struggles driving to the hoop.
