Burks seems like a decent college player that got a chance to be the focal point on a middle of the road big 12 team.

In a stronger draft he might be forgotten and fall late in the first round because nothing really jumps out to me about him, he isn't a big time athlete or a sharp shooter. However in this draft he will be worth to consider at #12 because he is only 19 so he's got plenty of time to work on his shot and even though he isn't athletic he has got nice length and moves pretty smoothly around the court.

Watched a interview and he sounds determined to work hard to improve his outside shot.

I imagine that's what GM's are going to look at the most, he's got to become a better shooter if he's going to see time on the floor.
 
I have seen Burks play and have seen some scouting reports on him, very good for a college sophomore and rebounds at a very high rate for a guard. From what I gathered, from a scouting report and watching him play, I remember he drives left 49% of the time and drives right 51%. He is great at finishing at he rim (creates his own shots) and is a very willing passer. His outside shooting could use improvement, but really who's can't (Jimmer... perhaps?) Also, with his length and quickness I'm sure he could be a decent defender. (Ronnie Brewer'ish... but certainly a better 'drive and finisher')

Drafting him at #12 would be an excellent value, but I think he has a good chance at going before that, if he is the piece someone needs at those spots. C.J. has seemed to pick up on the driving aspect of his game recently (needs to pass off dribble better)... and it seems Hayward is quickly developing this ability, so maybe a 'slasher' is not needed immediately.

I actually think there's a decent shot that either Burks or Biyombo are there at #12. If Jimmer jumps up to the kings and Marcus Morris goes before 12 as well, then I think one of those two (most likely Biyombo) will be sitting there at 12.

Burks, Biyombo or Hamilton, possibly Singleton, maybe even The Jimmer. There will be some good options at #12. Dare I say the draft at perhaps 7-14 is even better or more intriguing than last year? I wasn't enamored with anyone that was projected last year from #9 on. Davis, Henry and George were the guys on my radar, but I wasn't really sold on any of them. Good thing KOC outsmarted us all!

This draft I think there are some real solid players who will be available 3 spots lower than Utah's 2010 selection.

Also he's about the same size CJ Miles was 4 years ago - which means at this point he probably can't play the 3 and probably can't get to the rim at the next level - which means he'll end up being another shooting guard who can't shoot jumpers. And I've seen enough of those in Utah to last a lifetime.

Just because he is the same size Cj was 4 years ago doesn't mean he can't get to the rim.

Didn't the same thing happen to Hayward his sophomore year when he was the focal point. Burks got no help from his teammates. At times he was forced to do it all by himself. That won't be a problem in the NBA.

As far as his shooting goes, he may not be a great three point shooter, but he's better then Ronnie Brewer. Burks has good form on his jumper, and can improve. He does however have an advanced midrange game which is why people compare him to Brandon Roy. I believe Burks is a better shooter then people on this board give him credit for. Don't get me wrong he's no Ray Allen, but like I said earier he's better than Brewer.

As far as him not being able to play sf I agree with that luckily Hayward can, as can Cj which means Burks can grow into the sg of the future.

Don't worry the guy can shoot, I mean even Brewer could shoot pretty well (not the best 3), the problem with Brewer was he had not much threat of taking the defender off the dribble, to the rim, which allowed the D to stick to him rather than sag off... I guarantee people will respect Burks driving ability and this will help open him up for the mid-range jumper. (Brewer just was not the best dribbler, and I say this with all due respect as a big Brewer fan.) Burks has pretty damn good handles for his size.

I mean watch this and tell me he does not have a great upside on his 'catch-and-shoot' ability. (Sorry, not to direct it at you, I now you are a believer, just in general to all who watch...)

0:57 really reminds me of a Brewer type of steal and finish, oh how I miss those. C'mon the guy is 6' 6" and moves like a PG. (Perhaps I'm biased as a CU alumni. Oh well, I just really like the guy..) I just don't think he will make it to 12, if this is the "weak draft" everyone keeps calling it.

People are comparing him to Brewer and saying he's 6'6". I thought Burks was listed at 6'4". That's what he looks like to me. A smallish 2 guard who's fairly quick and athletic. I'm hungover but will look it up now.
 
Burks is 6'5" without shoes with a wingspan of 6'10" and standing reach of 8'7.5".

Brewer was 6'5.75", 6'11.25" and 8'7.5". Interesting. He was a little longer, definitely stronger, and had five inches of more vert.
