Is Thabo the NBA's best wing defender?

No, he’s not. IMO. Maybe if he had stayed healthy last year.

I wonder how the jazz would’ve faired had both Thabo and Rubio, been active vs the Rockets in the playoffs?

Yeah, my post title is click bait. My main point is that Houston lost a great defender in Luc Moute and we are gaining back Sefo, and how that will affect us both.

healthy and motivated Kawhi Leonard is the best wing defender in NBA by a mile. Obviously big question is how healthy and motivated he will be next season.

I don't know where he fits in the ranking but IMO he is way underrated on this board. Perhaps his injury will hinder his going forward ability but if not, I think he has plenty left in the tank from an age and contribution standpoint.

I really like Thabo. I'm not sure he is the best wing defender on our team and he isn't better than Leonard.

No one is underrating him, just concerned that he’s getting up there in age and coming off a season ending knee injury, he may come back damaged goods. That’s all.

My eye test says he was the best we had last year before dis injury

Thabo did not suffer a torn ACL
He suffered something like a torn MCL which is not as serious and only takes half the time to fully recover
This is the only major injury he has ever had I think
He should be near 100% of what he was before the injury
He will still be able to play some impact minutes

He's very old.

Ingles and Royce are probably better and Exum has the potential to be this year if he is healthy.

"Josh Eberley of hoopshabit.com came with a laudable mission. He decided to rank the NBA players by defensive prowess.

He used the best available defensive statistics and an eye-test ranking by himself and two other NBA loyalists. He grouped the point guards together and the wings together.

And No. 1 on Eberley’s list of NBA defensive wings is Thabo Sefolosha."

And you have Ingles and Royce ahead of Thabo? Thabo will be pissed if he sees what you did to him, and everyone knows you don't mess with a dude named Thabo(which means The Butcher in his Swiss dialect-his parents gave him the nickname because he killed so many rabbits).

So.. he’d just go around killing random rabbits like some kind of future serial killer?
