Gobert/Exum Summer Pick-Up Highlights

I just love that MVP hates Exum so much he’ll go to the trouble of producing diagrams to try to prove he’s no good
Not at all . Take Exum out of it, it could be Stocktons missed shot it does not matter who shot it. I just want to understand what cy means when saying that shot was inline and hit front of the rim when it was clear it hit left side of the rim and was way off center line. I posted this to explain what I saw. Still awaiting Cy’s explanation. Just put your spot where you think ball hit and where you think center of the basket is. I just want to understand what is he hallucinating about.

If you want to use any stat to gauge shooting form, it's FT%. It's the same for everyone. The only variable is the consistency and quality of your release.

*Also, I dont know how what I said about surgery is BS. If you think his shot was ugly before, then having surgery would prevent you from working on your shooting. Shoulder surgery doesnt make your shot better and prevents you from working on it as much as you would want, which was my point you illiterate hack.*

Forget FT. You don’t jump or use your legs during FT. Completely different mechanics and there is tons of good ft shooters who can’t shoot properly from 3 or midrange.
Just to remind you he had surgery on his non shooting shoulder. It should not affect his shooting form at all.

There’s really only 3 things from that video
1. Rudy is freaking awesome. Beast
2. Exum has a pull up jumper that looks ok
3 Hield has a beautiful release. Smooth af

That’s all

Durant, George and Siakam looked most impressive there - Durant plain unstopable... Rudy being Rudy, cleaning up garbage and blocking shots. Exum made two mid range jumpers but bricked all 4 of his 3's badly. Nice few drives to the basket. I just don't think he will ever develop reliable 3 point shot, mechanics are just ugly.

Yea that was harsh to watch lol. For a highlights vid they certainly found a way to show Exum's smooth 3 point stroke :)

I read the comments then watched the video -- some of these anti-Exum comments are ridiculous. He has never had a reliable or even natural-looking mid-range shot but now he actually has one -- this is going to make a big difference in his game. So far as the 3's, I think they will begin to fall at an acceptable rate, which is all that's needed from him.

To clarify, statistically, favors shot 78% at the rim. Exum shot 67% at the rim. (<3ft)

Favors shot 39% from midrange. Exum 38% from close/midrange. (3ft to <3pt)

Exum shot 28% from three. Favors shot 24%.

Exum has always had weird form, both shooting and non shooting. I mean he runs around with finger guns all game. He’s still very awkward athletically, but the tools are there. He seems like he’s slowly becoming less baby-deer-like at least though

Favors shot form looks better to me, but it doesn’t really go in all that much more than exums so that doesn’t mean jack.

I never wanted this to be compare and contrast Favors and Exum shooting form. All I want to know is why Exum has such a weird looking shot even though he has access to the best coaching in the world?

It might be because his arms are so long. It might be because he’s still growing into his body/athleticism.

It's not completely differnet mechanics at all. You dont use your legs on FTs? Just stop.

And shoulder surgery doesnt affect your ability to practice? OK.

Show my one FT example where somebody jumps in the air. And yes, I do not use my legs at all when I shoot FT ( shot 84% in college).

On non shooting arm? For maybe a month or two at best. Most players start one armed shots as soon as they are done with sling. Kanter had it done on non shooting arm as well, his shot certainly did not suffer at all after coming back from it. At any way Exum's shot mechanics were poor before the surgery and remained the same.

Can we look up total jumpers from midrange?? Because Exum's mid range jumper in the game was as rare as moon eclipse as far as I can remember. And is there a way to stretch distance further from basket like 10-20 FT range for example? At 3-10FT Exum was mostly throwing floaters.

Didnt know you had to jump to use your legs.
LMAO. If you bend you knees when shooting does this count as using your legs during FT? And how is this the same mechanics as jumping anywhere from 10 to 30 inches ( depending on player or situation ) in the air during mid range jumper?

You are really stupid.

Fantastic post.

Favors Was top ten in dunks last year.

Also, you keep saying Favors has the worst shooting form on the team. Simply not true.

I have no idea what Favors dunking a lot has to do with Exum. *Just to clarify since you seem not to get it* You said Exum doesnt have a knack for scoring, but him being a high efficiency rim scorer (75% of which came unassisted) shows he does have a knack for scoring.

And yes, it's true. Favors has the worst shooting mechanics on the team. It's why he is a very inconsistent shooter, especially from the FT line.
