Quote on Jimmer at King's Workout

Former Timpview and BYU basketball player Alan Andrus, who played professionally in Japan, attended the Kings' workout.

"Jimmer played well. Of course he shot well, though not spectacularly — for him," said Andrus. "He passed very well in the 3-on-3, dominating without shooting a lot. He also looked good, and I would guess quicker than the Kings' braintrust might have expected, on defense. Offensively, he had some moves that had Jerry Reynolds, Pete Carril, and the whole row of Kings brass laughing and shaking their heads at how good he was. At one point he probably hit 15 20-foot pull-up jumpers in a row.

"It was actually comical to see how much (co-owner) Gavin Maloof seemed to be enthralled with Jimmer. While Tyler Honeycutt's athleticism was impressive, both Maloof and Petrie went directly up to Jimmer afterwards and spent a considerable amount of time with him. I didn't see them even speak to the other five players."

Walker couldn't make the workout with Fredette. The Kings brought in Sam Muldrow, Josh Harrellson, Honeycutt, Tobias Harris and UTEP's Randy Culpepper.

"The Kings brought out another guard, (believed to be Culpepper), who was super quick," said Andrus.

"My supposition is that this was to measure Jimmer's quickness. Jimmer did an impressive job of staying in front of him, even on full-court one-on-one drills. In the same drills, when Jimmer was on offense, he blew right by him. Jimmer was too strong and crafty for the other guard to handle."

Yeah I'm sure some team will take a flyer on him with all the positive propaganda being hurled around. There's a lot of gamesmanship being played by teams here. So long as he doesn't end up going #3 or #12, I don't really care.

I want Jimmer in a jazz jersey. I propose we trade with Washington for #6 and #18

If Williams falls to us. I just don't like the guy. Maybe even get javale McGee in the deal.

The funny thing is if the kings take Jimmer the will be taking him over knight or walker. Figuring the caves take Irving # 1 that would leave either kanter or Williams for the jazz. Cleveland would take some one other then another pg they are not Kahn.

Toronto could take a pg unless they are in love with vesely or some one. Washington won't take a point guard. That leaves a possibility of both knight and walker on the board. If they took Jimmer that means walker and knight slide.

Detroit could use a pg but stuckey is not awful. They might go BPA though and take one. Charlotte needs a lot but the word is they want the twins. Gs doesn't need another pg so there would be a chance of getting either walker or knight at 12 if sactown took Jimmer.

He'd be very good value at 12. I'm still torn, though. As much as I'd like to see the Jazz take Jimmer, I also think a bigger need is at SF and there should be a couple of decent ones available. So Sacramento taking Jimmer would solve that problem and avoid a PR nightmare. This all might be a "mute" point. For all the talk, I think Cleveland will still take Irving at #1, DWill will get drafted #2 and the Jazz will take Knight. Cleveland then takes Kanter and gets the two players they wanted all along.

Would be fun, though, if the Jazz took Kanter or DWill and Fredette were there at #12. The ESA crowd would be going crazy...JIM-MER, JIM-MER. Would KOC make it out alive of the Jazz drafted someone else under that scenario? The boos he heard when Hayward was drafted would pale in comparison.
