You are absolutely correct. A 5 minute tape of defensive highlights from 4 years of college could be made. What I wonder is how long would that tape be if you took steals out of it?

Good point. Think about this: it's easy to put together a 5 minute highlight tape of Biyombo's offense. Jimmer's defense? Nope.

Name the last PG that was drafted for their defense. Besides Rondo, name another starting PG that you'd want on your team that's even a serviceable defender. PG's aren't even allowed to play defense in the NBA anymore so who the hell cares if their PG can play defense?

Exactly. Hell...Deron was blown by all the time and nobody cared about it, at least nobody here. The NBA is such a help defensive league that it really doesn't matter if your PG is a lock down defender.

Why don't you compile those steals and let me know if what you end up with resembles a defensive highlight reel. If you think it will you'd be doing James a big service. I'll bet it more strongly resembles a video demonstrating that NCAA level talent doesn't necessarily dribble or pass too well.
