Jazz podcasts

How do you like them? Which are your favorite ones to listen too during the offseason/season?

I'm finding them somewhat repetitive with out any real hot takes. They seem to be agenda driven. I did really like Locke's for a while but his ego and lack of real content is getting old. I feel that our market is too vanilla where all they do is write fluff pieces or give us total feel good podcasts without any real red meat. Anyways what are your thoughts?

Why not start our own podcast? I have experience doing audio podcasts, for example -- for Webtalk Radio. I might be moving to SLC area in the near future. Turning that into a video podcast wouldn't be that hard. Not to say I'd be the one to do it, but I would help anyone who wanted to do it. Or we could have guest hosts in the beginning, and the best of the bunch could become the regulars. And guys, you can edit them before posting, so if there are lots of mistakes in the early podcasts they can be fixed.

I’ve thought about starting my own podcast. I’d have more hot takes than bill Simmons, Colin Cowherd, and skip bayless combined.

Best nba pods...

Dunc’d On
Open Floor -good mix of humor and nba talk.
The ringer nba pod with Kevin o Conner and Chris Vernon.
Lowe post

Some okay ones
Game theory - great for draft stuff
Hardwood knocks - they are okay but drive me nuts when they talk about trades cba stuff cuz they generally don’t have much of a clue on that stuff.

Jazz podcasts... the weekly run is decent but has that fluff element.

Locke’s podcast is solid but some struggle with him.

SLC dunk podcast is fun but not a lot of substance... they also struggle with the cba stuff.

Hey, guys, go to my blog and you will hear clips from my 6-hour audio book, now in search of a new publisher -- you probably don't want to wade through the b.s. about the book's history, just listen to the audio clips. I cut the ties with the prospective publisher to get better representation. Any suggestions for a publisher would be appreciated. It's a children's book for adults, i.e., can be enjoyed by both children and adults, who have never left childhood like myself.

Anyway, I think I can help get the podcast off the ground. I think, judging from the posters on here, that we have a lot of potential talent to do this. But we should put some thought into it by making it distinctive and give "stage names" to the podcasters, or simply keep our usernames because most of them are pretty colorful. Using a creative background, music, intro (get a poster with good voice for that), all those could be used to make it distinctive -- Jason can supply the wardrobe -- special JF t-shirts with the logo.

I have a studio set up in my house and have 5 mics. I've thought about doing podcasts, but then I remind myself that I more often than not, I struggle with speaking my native tongue.

All you have to do, Archie, is sit there and giggle, hehepeepeecaca, every so often.

Seriously, I think you would add a colorful presence to the podcast ... you don't have to a great voice, just a colorful personality, like "Sir Charles" or Shaq -- we could do a take-off on Inside the NBA -- Inside the Utah Jazz, or something like that

Best basketball podcast I listen to is called therightstorickysanchez they are a kind of cult 76ers podcast found them two offseasons ago trying to feed my NBA draft information thirst. They are funny, crazy, and sometimes critical of their organization which is more informative then what we have now.

I like a bunch of your suggestions like starting a fan podcast. If you ever need controversy or hot takes I'm in. I also like Andy Larsen and Ben Anderson on Salt City Hoops show. Even though Andy is too in love with analytics.

I used to like the rights to Ricky Sanchez guys but hate all things sixers... they are pretty funny doe.

I like Andy but Ben makes me cringe with his basketball takes sometimes. He’s funny and provides a nice ying to Andy’s yang.

Only ones I really listen to are Lockes unless someone has one of our guys on.

I've been thinking about doing a Jazzfanz podcast. I've got the equipment and the time. All I'd need would be another polarizing member and half way decent takes to accompany me and my lisp. Anyone interested? We could do it in my studio or remotely.

Hehe to the peepeecaca yea.
