I've never heard of Leonard Cohen before. Poetry like that in the OP is classic sociopathic megalomaniacal rant. Just pick whoever is, for the moment, the cat's paw of cat's paws and explain why you are the real "cool".

But I've been doing me some real cultural enlightenment about black issues, listening to Sonnie Johnson and David on the Patriot channel XM 125. The Kanye West "Maga Hat" is getting top billing on all the conservative talk shows. Lots of very highly educated and articulate folks taking conservative or "American" values home nowadays.
Kanye is doing something trying to bring Adidas production home to Chicago. I have a struggle with the Hip Hop beat, but I give it a whirl sometimes. Actually more intelligence in the lyrics than Country Music has, imo.
Neither Kanye nor Trump is ideological conservative, just effective and practical people trying to make something a little more sensible. If I were a liberal, I'd try to talk to them..... and maybe listen as much as I do now.

So, to recap, a conservative Republican commentator on CNN calls Kanye a token negro which somehow morphs into liberal CNN calling him the n-word.

It was bad by both of them. I’m the one who brought it up, and I never involved party for a reason...because the party doesn’t matter in this case. It was wrong no matter who said it. Don Lemon, the host, should have put a stop to it right away. Instead, he laughed. If it was on Fox I would have the same criticism.
People don't argue facts anymore, bro. Saying there's "a conservative Republican commentator on CNN" is the same as claiming there's "a Christian crusader in Caligula's forces". Likewise, "a token negro" is the same as "a runaway slave".
It's is absolutely imperative that the Democrats send out the cops and bounty hunters to enforce discipline and unquestioned authority amongst their political captive classes, just as it's only economic necessity to keep those Democratic Voter "immigrant worker" ships packed like sardine cans to squeeze as many Democratic Voters as possible into the hold, to get them here to vote Democrat in this "democratic crisis" for the great cause of Obama's "community organizational victory" come Nov. 6.
Former AG Eric Holder, who with Obama contrived the plan to provide guns to the Coyote Immigrant Escort Services are proud of their genius. Packing in the drugs to help reduce the whitey juvenile crop is just ICEing on their cake. But the reality of those modern slaver caravans losing a high percentage of their "cargo" is of no concern to "liberals" because it's the price of getting thousands across the border every day.
Of course, Trumps johhny-come-lately poorly-funded and disorganized efforts to save the kids from fentanal-ICEd pot and "build the wall" is just too damn ineffective to stem the tide, especially when there are already recruitment officers.... call them "slave recruiters" in place telling po' folks they can get them to the Streets of Gold and organizing those immigrant caravans.
The demographic warfare is working. Bill Gates is on the team, the UN is claiming supervisory authority over all immigrants everywhere, and clannish enclaves of like-minded citizens are being broken up everywhere, making police state governance the practical solution to angry mobs raging through the streets in murderous demonstrations against every conceivable "injustice" however trivial.
It's like having a Continental-scale Industrial Revolution licensed to pollute the world on one side of the Pacific, while taxing people who fart on the other side of the Pacific. It's a great plan that maximizes Statism everywhere.

You’re right, you didn’t make it partisan. The poster I quoted did, which is why he was the one I quoted.
Both commentators on CNN did use the word negro, but the one that said “token negro” the phrase at issue here and the one that has so many twitter-bated, is a Republican. The Democrat, on the other hand, said: “Anti-intellectualism simply isn’t cool. Kanye West is what happens when Negros don’t read.” A small potatoes jab at Kanye for famously saying he is "a proud non-reader of books."
The funny part is how upset the word negro has made more than a few right wingers. Some even going so far as to conflate it with the N-word, as if negro is just a softer version of the most toxic word in the English language. Negro, in and amongst the black community, is most often just a synonym for a backward looking fool, someone with a 1950s pre-Civil Rights era mentality. Using it was wrong only in the sense that all insults are wrong. Definitely not an outrage or nearly the big deal some are making it out to be.
CNN leans left, and the other hosts laughed. But if you want to pretend that conservative blacks are targeted Verbally by the professional left go ahead. You’ll just be wrong.

I think you meant "are not" targeted. With which i would agree they are often targeted by the left. My only point was that, in this particular case, the person who used the “token negro” phrase is a Republican. But you go ahead and pretend you didn’t assume she was a Democrat.
