Culturally Insensitive man bets a million dollars...

You can do that. I'm not sure it makes sense to split the difference, but since that makes sense to you and is almost certainly not politically driven, keep going with that.

Three pieces of data I feel are worth consideration :

How inheritance works

One drop rule
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-drop_rule

Although native American citizenship has little bearing on ancestry, the current principal chief of the Cherokee nation is only 3.1% Cherokee

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_John_Baker

and i understand the cherokees aren't particularly happy with her stance today ?

I did genetics at Uni but thnx for the info

Of course it makes no sense to split the difference, it isn't a linear equation. It was for the clear purpose of taking the piss of of this person's claims.
And orange boy should pay up. Get it over and done with and stop the embarrassment all round.

Warren obviously claimed to be Native American both in the past and right freaking today.

Do you mean native American ancestry (she claimed it, she has it), or tribal membership (she has never claimed to have it)? It's hard to say something is "obvious" when you don't even specify what is supposed to be obvious.

She press released it, and the news stations ran it unquestioningly to "dunk on Trump" as did people on this site. The Cherokee nation calls you out and you are telling them they cannot be offended. Why are you diminishing their experience? Are you saying that they are wrong to be offended?

I don't recall talking about the experience of any Cherokee. Could you quote the part that did? I ask again, what do you see as the different between what was in the post from the Cherokee nation and what was in Warren's tweet?

Now, I did listen to an interview on the radio from an actual representative of the Cherokee nation discussing what he found disappointing, and it had little to do with what you are saying. Of course, that was a real Cherokee, why would you care about that?

It has become relatively obvious that Warren has lied about her experiences claiming to be Native American, a lot. Did she tell you about how her parents were forced to elope because of her mother's obvious Cherokee background?

I've never spoken to her. The publicly available version of that event does not match your description. When did Warren tell this story to you?

I'm curious what kinds of memories one would have from a single 5X+ removed great-ancestor. Nothing I have read makes it sound like she lived in any way connected to the NA community, including directly from that community.

The stories that get passed along in families can be very powerful influences on their own, even when those stories involve a connection to a culture you no longer participate in, whether that culture be geographically based, religious, etc.

As I said, when you start posting stupid things from liberal sources, I'll find your mask of 'moderate seeking our information' more believable. As long as you only post stupid conservative sites as if they are authoritative, I find your performance unconvincing, regardless of how you say you see yourself.
What are these "conservative sites" you speak of?

Smdh.

You actually linked to that Elizabeth Warren wiki, and you need to ask?
Ok, so I responded to your amazon source with where I found the info about what you said to being bs.

What other conservative sites?

I post way more links from moderate liberal sites. I've given examples in this thread yet you want to rub one out with you thinking you've pinned me.

Yeah, OK, buddy...

Yes, a conservative site full of stupid and inaccurate claims. At any rate, you've dropped the pretense, so I drop my objections to it.

1/512 = confirmed.
#diversity

Lol

Warren has never presented herself as an example of diversity. #stupidclaims

Read her last two tweets.

She basically says, I had a famous geneticist prove I'm Native American and show how Trump attacked my family #1/512 so pay up, Trump.

No, she claimed native American ancestry, which is different (and which she has).

I like the part where Cherokee Nattion says what she did was wrong and inappropriate, yet @One Brow will argue otherwise.

I actually agree with the viewpoint of the Cherokee nation on this, to a degree. My understanding of the interview I heard is that Warren was wrong for stooping to Trump's level, and wrong to give any indication that her genetic history mattered, and that the real issues they need addressed have nothing to do with who has Native American ancestry. Ideally, this would be correct. I'm not sure that it's politically feasible to allow Trump to mock her over this unanswered, though.

Btw, a bunch of liberal media outlets are slamming Warren or going to start to. What a terribly dumb PR move.

Perhaps.

There is at least one unfactual comment here.

Warren, like most politicians, does not appear to be genuine.

If I were to identify as Native, as a politician, I would also work to be a champion for Natives, who I see as the most oppressed people in this Country, and no one seems to care.
