Someone will have to explain to me how this works. He’s played a few years in the NBA and like 4-5 years in the D-league already. What’s up with the draft?

There is a pool of players not on NBA rosters and not who GLeague teams have dibbs on as "returning" players. A lot of guys in this draft were guys cut in training camp but not "affiliate" players of NBA teams. I think a team can have 5 affiliate players, two two way contracts and a rookie or two that goes back and forth.

So people can't just sign as free agents after already being in the league?

So is he a possible replacement for Udoh or Bradley?

Maybe but I would not read that much into it. I think on talent he is a good backup option... he’s been productive. I believe there were off the court issues but could be wrong. They may want to see his daily interactions and habits.

This was a guy who was booted out of school for a sexual assault. Don't y'all love ripping Kobe every chance you get?
The guy is unknown. People only care about that stuff when there is media coverage.

I think it was a good pick. He's the type of player who could play on the Jazz this year if injuries occur. He has NBA experience and he's actually played well in the NBA. Plus he fits the way the Jazz want to use their bigs this year with the rule changes. He's athletic and can finish lobs. Solid defensive player, good rebounder (especially good on the offensive glass).

^Jazz would have to cut a player in order for Reed to play. He's not on a 2-way contract. I could see the Jazz signing him to replace Udoh for next year if no one else picks him up. Not sure why he's not on an NBA roster. Maybe there just aren't enough teams looking for traditional bigs.

Here's another angle on this:

Who starts on the Stars between Reed and Bradley?

Wow, I watched the video. I know it's highlights, but this guy is good. He's definitely more athletic than Udoh, not to say he's better all around, but damn he's an NBA player and even a rotation player.

Looking forward to seeing the G League back with increased salaries & next year the $125,000 for high school guys. Anybody else going to the home opener on Nov. 6 at Vivint Arena?

I'd guess they'll play Bradley over Reed, we'll see though.
