What's new

Make sure you have your water wings

To wade through the cesspool of ******** we're about to be fed for the next week.

We, of all people, should know that the media (local, national, bloggers, etc.) don't have the slightest clue what the Jazz are thinking as evidenced by the past several drafts and prior predraft reports. No matter what we hear the next six days, out of an 'insider' or KOC himself, it will definitely be a steaming pile of manure.

While I've been pulling my hair out for the past couple weeks in anticipation for the draft, and it's bound to get even worse these next six days, I love the fact that KOC and the Jazz know what they're doing and don't let anyone else know about it.

I can't remember a draft as wide open as this one as far as 'locks' at certain picks.

Perhaps it's a defense mechanism so far as I don't have a nervous breakdown, but I'm ready for anything. Any player at the 3 and 12, any trade of picks, any trade of players, etc. I'm not putting anything past KOC.

My biggest hope is that everyone, most importantly Ty and KOC, are on the same page with the pick(s).

Thursday will be a very interesting night and this board melting down is a certainty - and I cannot wait. Regardless of what transpires on draft night, I remain confident that we already have the pieces in place to be a very tough team to beat in the West barring any injuries. Unfortunately, there isn't a player in the draft that we can add that will make me think we're a surefire contender for the West - but there are several who can get me thinking irrationally one way or the other.

For those die hards like me, who will have a hard time focusing on anything over the next six days, I invite you to use this thread to stay distracted. I understand subsequent content should be on the 'General Discussion' forum, but I beg for the mods mercy. We'll all want to click into the 'Utah Jazz' forum during draft week.

Feel free to use this thread for stream of consciousness drivel as I have, or whatever you'd like as long as it's within the rigid boundaries set forth by our esteemed moderators.

In closing - I'd like to wish Tupac Shakur a happy birthday, acknowledge the beautiful weather in Chicago today, divulge my curious disgust of Ann Coulter's adams apple and lack of upper lip, request some documentary recommendations on netflix streaming and finally state my unwavering belief that no matter how old/young/depressed/happy you are a fart joke live and in the flesh will make you laugh.

Me too. ...the smoke in the shape of Brandon Knight had me freaked out. tsk tsk.

I'm trying not to get too sweet on any one player and I'm excited to see what happens.

Hey, so what's the deal this year with Draft Night at the ESA? Did I hear they're doing something to make the event better?

just a fluke, right? It's normally, what, 86 or 87 degrees in the summer?

lol. its about 10 degrees cooler in St George on average. Unless you actually believe the "official weather from the airport" When is says 105 and every other temp guage says 115.

Wow it was way to hot in Las Vegas today. Its this time of year that I hate living here.

How long have you lived there? I absolutely love Vegas and have always argued with my buddies that I could live there. I am a delinquent gambler and a sucker for EVERYTHING Vegas has to offer. I've been 4 times in my life. Do you live close to the all the action or when you say Vegas do you mean a suburb like a 25/30 minute drive from the strip.

Would you recommend it for someone to move to if they had a job set up?

It has been great though. Mid eighties until a week ago and then we get slammed with 107. Dry heat, who the hell cares its still hot as ****!

i will tell you ifyou game stay the hell away. Its in the grocery and covenince stores. You cant escape it. The food and party scene is great. Suburbs are great. Kind of like any other city. Sucks not having a pro team and unlv is only soso. Plus side houses are cheap as dirt right now.

Other than Mid June through mid Sept. I like it here. I Drive a cement truck and spend a lot of time down town. Vegas isn't a huge city and off the strip has kind of a small city feel. The strip is kinda a hole but people watching is really funny. Any more I am more of a family guy and stay out of the "action" as you put it. But for someone into the night life there isn't may places better than Vegas for sure.

Do not move to Vegas unless you have a very good job lined up. Because you might gamble or spend more than you want to on the night life and Vegas's economy is horrid to say the least right now. And make sure that job is very stable.

So......other than the poor economy, the strange people and horrid drivers on the freeway Vegas is really is a pretty nice place to live

Oh and if you live close to the action you are either a pimp or a drug dealer. No decent human being lives near the strip unless you live in the few highrises.

True that box. This year has been great so far until the last couple of weeks. Started latter that usual. An I poured some house slabs last week that were pretty good sized that they were looking to sell in the 90's. Prices haven't been that low in Vegas for over 25 years.

Wait???? Water wings float in manure? Is that your point?

No. My points were made very evident in my post. But it wouldn't just be manure. There would be piss and perhaps diarrhea too. With the mass amounts of it, it's enough to drown in so water wings help you stay afloat if you can't swim.

Anyone have any good Margarita recipes and/or dry rub/marinades for smoking ribs? We're grilling out tonight and I'm looking to knock the socks off the guests. I've already got some ideas for both, but wont start preparing for another couple hours. So any good suggestions will be genuinely considered.

Thinking of getting an English Bulldog. Anyone have one or have experience with them? I saw one on the street and fell in love. Are they good dogs to have?

Don't say that i'm driving down there later this morning. LOL....

Diarrhea descriptions and recipe solicitations in the same post? I think I'm gunna puke. (That might make a good marinade).
