According to Ford- Milsap/Harris could be traded on draft day

If Millsap is traded, he had better have said he didn't want to come off the bench AND they had better ****ing get Derrick Williams as well.

That would be the only reason I would see for trading him. I can see Harris being moved, but I just don't see that much interest by the Jazz in getting rid of Millsap...unless they're pretty set on Kanter, or if they believe Williams will be there and will be a swing forward, able to backup Favors. A 3-man rotation of Jefferson-Favors-Millsap is solid at the 4/5 and there's plenty of PT for everyone. Can't count on Memo because he may not be able to play and this is his last year anyway. Millsap was a super sub, but we've seen his play drop off as a starter because he's up against bigger players. I'd try to convince Paul to accept the veteran, 6th man role. He'd be the go-to guy like Harpring was.

If anything, I think

Millsap is not going to complain about coming off the bench. So unless it's a great deal millsap stays (giving him or harris up to get jimmer, is not a great deal)

Except if you believe his "I'm a starter" comment. Money changes things. Maybe he was Sloan's pet, but doesn't have a good relationship with Ty. He may resent Jefferson being the #1 option the last several weeks of the season. Or maybe he's bitter over the Jazz getting rid of Brewer and then Deron, two of his BFF's. Who knows?

What IS evident is that he's been a much better 6th man and spot starter than a #1 PF. I think he could be dominant again as a backup and still get the same number of minutes. He'd also be a bigger part of the offense and go up against backups for at least half his minutes. That seems like a win-win to me. Let Favors do thebanging against the starters and Millsap can put up double-doubles against the backups.

Millsap would be correct in believing that he is the starter until he is beat out for the spot. That hasn't happened yet.

Ya'll should stop belly-aching about Millsap and get excited to see what he's added to his game. Right now, as far as I'm concerned he can "start" at the SF if starting is a problem, since we have total **** on the wings right now. <insert defensive worries here> (btw, we've hacked that to death, too)

Also, you can put me on the record for saying that this site has drastically under-appreciated the quality of his past season.

how about Millsap, Okur, & 3rd pick
for
Bogut & 10th pick
?

I don't think we can realistically expect an upgrade over Harris. With this trade, we "get longer" with a real center.. And there will still be guards left that can hit shots at the 10th & 12th picks.. without being as much of a reach as drafting one w/ the 3rd would have been.

Just a thought. Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks, right?

Hell no, I would trade Jefferson and 12 for Bogut but not Millsap and the 3rd pick.

Yep. Thank god the average Jazzfanz poster isn't running the team. They seem only concerned with what their best players aren't (this is especially true of Millsap, Deron and...gasp...AK).

why everyone is trying to get rid of millsap? he is the last man to be traded in this team. He has a vry good contract and he can accept the role of coming from the bench unlike Jefferson who has double contract. If we r gonna trade a big man, its Big al not millsap

Why would Milsap have to settle for the 6th man role? Did you see him lead us in Miami?
