You said, "I know I should care about this". What does "this" in your statement refer to? I understood it as a reference to the ban. Meaning you don't care about the ban, because of Acosta's tone or whatever it is people are objecting to. What am I misunderstanding?
Me not being able to work myself up over Acosta does not mean I’m for wholesale checks on journalists and news agencies.

That's not how it works. You either care about free speech, or you don't. You care about free press, or you don't. Caring only about press that suits you means you don't care about freedom of press.

Except that's not what he's saying. For one, why would that guy be speaking for the government? Is he Trump? Obviously not. He's saying that the idea of "popular resistance" is unrealistic in the US. The government will always out-weapon you. Thus. it's not a good argument against assault weapon ban.
I find little value in BS hard line stances on a sports forum. Your demand for hardline stances is meaningless. I think we’re done here.
