Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Simi *****u looks like he could be our guy -- 6'10", 7'1" wingspan, good athlete, runs the floor, has the ability to handle and pass off the dribble, goes to the offensive glass, has scoring instincts and post moves around the rim, and has some shooting touch to develop. Only 19. I like him more than the post-injury version of Harry Giles.

*****u's not a good athlete, he's an EXCELLENT athlete by NBA standards. I bet he could out run anyone on Utah's roster.

38, 9 and 5 last night for Morant. A bit more explosive than Holiday, otherwise probably an apt comparison. Anyway i want him on the Utah jazz.
The biggest difference is probably weight. Morant is very skinny. I doubt he will ever have Jrue's defensive versatility because of that.

I like this kid out of Michigan. A year old for his class, but he's pretty yoked. He does the Hayward thing where he fixes his hair after he makes a shot.

Dort probably my favorite player this year. Dude is a dead ringer for Marcus Smart physically. I don't know if he's a good finisher (struggled against Miss State, a team with NBA sized centers who excel at rim protection) but he attacks like a madman. Dude throws his body into anything like a pinball.

His shot is a ****ing moonball. I highly doubt it's consistent. It nearly leaves the screen on a lot of his highlights. For now it's going in though and he's shooting 44% from 3.

Morant just looks like a guy you can't keep out of the paint. If he wants it, he'll get there. Ultra aggressive. Reminds me a Russ a bit.
Yeah, recently Fox is probably the closest comparison. Morant is taller, but both are super skinny, super athletes, and strong for their size.

I recorded a couple ASU games based on a post of yours a couple weeks ago about Dort. He's fun as hell to watch. yeah, arc is good, but good heavens, that thing is going to take out some lighting in an arena. Also shoots a set shot which I'm not a huge fan of- though it's pretty quick, so he seems to be able to get it off.

Reminds me a lot of Lance in how he moves, dribbles, and penetrates. Gets to the line a ton but his TS% blows when considering that. He looks sort of heavy and below the rim to me.

Michigan vs North Carolina tonight

Cameron Johnson one of the more interesting role player types in the draft. Could be a back end of the first round guy. 5th year senior who has a great shot and is 6'9. Not sure how he holds up defensively (looks average at best athletically), but has the size to guard multiple positions.

Morant is awesome but he reminds me of Alec Burks... throwing himself on the ground every drive. He's built like a insect and gonna get hurt.

I like Cam Johnson- i think he's okay at the NBA level athletically. I think he can switch on wings and 4s adequately. Love his shooting stroke and he's smart. I'd take him mid second, maybe earlier depending on what he shows this year.

Also Colby White and Nassir little are both worth watching for UNC. Also wonder about Matthews of Michigan- might be a place for him in the league, though the shooting needs to get a lot better. Seems to have a good stroke.

Ja Morant is physically similar to De'aaron Fox. He'll need to add strength for sure. He's got the speed and the ability to play fast. Plus his shooting is further along compared the Fox as a freshman. He could go in the lottery as one of the top 2 or 3 PG prospects.

Edit: yeah, looks like you're comparing Morant to Fox.

Oh Little is going way before the Jazz draft (I'm guessing the Jazz don't draft top 10)

I don't think Matthews is good enough if he doesnt learn to shoot to be a NBA player. He'll be like Dozier.

I like this Morant dood... wonder if @LoPo can put together a fake trade for him right now.

Dean Wade is one of the more skilled 4's in college and probably the best senior in the draft (off the top of my head). He's a better athlete than most people think, good body control. Can do a lot on offense and his shot looks like he should shoot it more. Can bring what Niang brings w/ better athletic traits.

I think he might be a better prospect than what Kuzma was, but his physical measurements might hold him back a bit. Kuz had a 7' wingspan. Wade's doesnt look impressive, probably 6'10 at best.
