Welcome to Colton's Mock Draft Compilation, v. 15.0. Here are who the mock drafts are listing as the "best players". See below for details. It should give a pretty good idea of who will be available when the Jazz pick.

Ranking details: I used the following mock drafts as "voters" for the best players. That is, I assumed they ranked the players in the order that they felt like the players deserved to be drafted. (This is an incorrect assumption, because some mock drafts account for perceived team need, but it should be close.) Then I used the "instant run-off voting" algorithm in a program I wrote to deduce who deserved to be ranked in the top spot, then in the second spot, then in the third spot, and so forth. Changes from v 14.0: I am still only using mock drafts that have been updated in the past two weeks. ELEVEN of the TWENTY I used this time have been updated since my last compilation.
 
Big jump by the Jimmer this time thanks to those good workouts he has had. Interesting........ that pushes Burks and Thompson into the 12 range. Plus maybe Biyombo. This draft is one of the more crazy ones that I can ever remember when it comes to guys in the lottery jumping all over the place. Out side the top 4-5 it is a complete toss up.

Only two days since my last compilation, but so many of the mock drafts had changed that I felt I needed to do an update.

Misc observations:

* All mocks have Irving at #1
* All but one have Williams at #2
* 14 of the mocks have us picking Knight at #3; 6 have us picking Kanter at #3.
* Bismack Biyombo, Marcus Morris, Jimmer Fredette, Tristan Thompson -- four players exactly tied at #9. Wow, the odds of that happening with this algorithm are EXTREMELY slim. It means exactly five mocks had Bismack ranked higher than the other three; five had Marcus ranked higher than the other three; five had Jimmer ranked higher than the other three, and five had Tristan ranked higher.
* Tristan Thompson now wins one of the prizes for the most confusing... he ranges from pick #5 to pick #28.
* Marshon Brooks wins the other such prize... he ranges from pick #15 to pick #53.
* Jimmer remains the most popular choice for the Jazz at #12, but just barely. 6 of the mocks have the Jazz picking Jimmer. 5 of them have the Jazz picking Klay Thompson. And 4 of them have the Jazz picking Singleton.
* Players with a reasonable chance to be available at #12 include: Bismack (8 mocks say he'll be there), Marcus Morris (8 mocks), Jimmer (16 mocks), Tristan Thompson (13 mocks), Burks (he's odd; he ended up in the #13 spot, but only 6 mocks have him available at #12), Klay Thompson (15 mocks), and everyone ranked below Klay (17 mocks or more).
 
I think Hamilton will make a jump on draft day. My mock has him going before our 12th pick. Too much length, athleticism, and natural scoring ability to sit on the shelf too long.

Very interesting 4-way tie in your matrix......
 
Colton, thanks for compiling these, its been fun and interesting to follow. In the final mock compilation could you also list the team at each pick? I think its interesting to see which player is likely to end up with which team.--it alsocould reveal some unlikely scenarios where the average of the mocks is probably wrong. For instance Toronto would take Jonas V. according to your compilation, but with Bargani and Ed Davis and a need at pg it is less likely that they would draft Jonas or kanter if available. Similarly it is unlikely that Washington will draft a pg (Kemba) with John wall on the roster.

I'll consider it, but since the compilation done this way isn't a mock draft itself, the teams at each pick have little meaning. (Except to figure out, as you mentioned, if a given player wouldn't really go at a given pick.)
 
Yes of course your reasoning is perfectly sound, but Colton if you don't list a team next to the cmpiled pick, it means that I HAVE TO GO BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN ANOTHER WEBPAGE ON MY CRUMMY 10-IN NETBOOK. PLEASE!!!
