This is a good point.
How many guys that are as tall and long as Rudy and as skinny as Rudy are good efficient post players?
I can't think of any but maybe someone else can.

Guys I think of that are sized like Rudy are mutumbo, DeAndre Jordan, manute bol, Shawn Bradley and none of them are worth anything in the post.

Rudy 2014 vs Rudy 2018:

HUGE IMPROVEMENT in the paint. He is now a threat for a lob, he has been seen sealing off his man and spinning for a dunk as recently as last night, he usually catches the ball, and his FT% has gone from pathetic to respectable.

Rudy 2018 vs Shaq 2000:

Laughable.

Clearly plenty of work to do down low but he is working on it and showing plenty of signs of improvement.
 
It happens all the time when you throw the ball to rudy, he will get an uncontested dunk, or go up weak and try to draw a foul rather than going up strong to make a bucket

Seriously though, I know he is a monster defensively, but holy crap. You are one of the longest and tallest players in the league, we all know you have abs, put them to use. It happens ALL THE TIME where a much smaller player is guarding him in the post and he just flounders a shot up. It's annoying, just stop giving the ball to gobert on offense u less it's a lob. He's been in the league for what, 5 years? You can't have 1 offensive move in 5 years??? Its embarrassing

Sometimes I think our guys, especially Ricky, try to force the ball to Rudy when he has a mismatch like 10 feet away from the basket and he seems to turn it over a lot. But I don't mind it. Rudy plays his *** off on defense no matter how many touches he gets on offense, unlike a lot of bigs. Let the man take a funky jump-hook every game, he deserves it.

During the draft there was videos of rudy working on the 3pt shot. I'm not asking for rudy to do that, but what about a 8ft jumper or a baby hook? I just dont get it
