Jazz 76ers Game THREAD

I wonder if playing a small 4 against a team like the Sixers is actually a detriment? I felt like playing our twin towers gave us more of a chance than when we went small. I understand the need for better spacing offensively. However, I felt like it became too easy for Embiid to score when all he had to do was beat Gobert or Favors than both of them.

Also, I felt like we had an advantage in the paint. While their big guards posted up I thought we could’ve posted up favors at times for easy buckets/fouls. I mean, he was drawing them with ease in the first quarter. Wish we would’ve given a big lineup more of a chance.

This team just isn’t that talented. **** really has to be clicking to succeed.

The Sixers hit a lot of tough shots.

I know what your complaint is, we all already think it. But He had an ok night tonight. This one wasn’t on him as much as it was on the terrible defense and Ricky going negative enfuego for the 11th time this season, imo.

Then admit that you disagreed with my post rather than whine about me being unclear.

Yet here we are with another blowout loss, on home court, where our starting pg shot 10 percent.
Another? The last blowout loss at home came over a month ago.

The Jazz played lazy D. I don't see how that's all on Rubio. it's was a collective effort to lose this game. Yes, Rubio played poorly, but he was far from the reason for the loss.

Eh, your original complaint was that he shouldn’t have more 3pt attempts than fta. Nearly all perimeter players in this league do just that every night. Plus he was shooting well from 3 at that time. I stand by my original response.

He should still get more fta, but his 3pt shooting has no impact on that fact.

And block. And Onto the ignore list you go.

How many of these excuses are we going to give Ricky? How is this kind of performance, for basically a great chunk of the season, acceptable? Sure we played lazy D in the second half especially, but Rubio should not have even turned up. He was absolutely invisible. Quin also definitely dropped the ball today.

When did anyone give him an excuse?

When you’re below .500 and fighting for the playoffs in the west, you can’t suffer many more losses at home, especially crushing blowouts.

Let's see him be a consistent backup first, then look at increasing his minutes before we think about starting him.

Yup, I didn't get to watch the 1st half but Exum played well in control in the 3rd quarter but he went back to forcing things and rushing things in the 4th before he got benched.

Quin really needs to park those Rubio/Exum lineups neither player does well in those.

When did anyone give him an excuse?

I think this is less about fans excusing him as it is Snyder’s decision to play Exum 8 fewer mins despite Exum’s effectiveness and Rubio’s ineffectiveness. Let’s face it, their first half performance was ample evidence to have convinced Snyder to adjust his lineup and give Exum far more burn than Rubio.

Yup Rubio is terrible this year. I've been pretty hard on Exum but Rubio is just as bad if not worse. Take his prestigious name off of his jersey and he starts for noone.

When did anyone give him an excuse?

You gave him an excuse the moment you replied to theejazzfan with your comment. Right now there is no pressure on Rubio on losing his starting position, and whilst there are many elements involved as to why that is, he is excused every time he has his starting position.

A loss is a loss. The Jazz lost to a great team. It happens. You move on. This isnt a back-breaker.

Blowouts absolutely are more deflating than regular losses. Not sure how you can argue this. We’re not only fighting for our record but for confidence. This blowout at home hurts, especially to Mitchell who was clearly pressing against his ROY Competitor
