Can we get back to DMX ...........

Exum knows how to butter the toast in feeding Gobert and DFaves in orchestrating a dunkathon. And he is showing he knows when to hit Korver in motion to catch and release a 3pter.
But his play with DM is still not smooth, not because they aren't trying but because Rubio is Snyder's man at the PG position.
But we have an Exum "all of a sudden" bringing all eyes on to himself with confident super fast play that stands out on a team who really only have 2 superior athletic players on the Jazz in Exum and Mitchell.
Quietly we hoped Exum and Mitchell would meld into the Jazz backcourt duo that would attack other defenses with athletic excellence and bring terror to other teams when they played the Jazz .
Mitchell is not playing good this season ,not because he's lost confidence or lost athleticism but he's shouldering more than he can handle at this moment in his career .
Now Exum is healthy ,getting playing time and is blowing up on the court and wow is DMX ready to become reality.
Ex has been the X factor and DM has been struggling in his 2nd season,
Is It Their Time ?

Anybody seen the Mortal Engine movie? I heard it flopped but I'm still interested if someone's seen it?

There was a good stretch of games in November where Quin tried DMX more by staggering Mitchell's minutes so he would play with the bench more often, and the results weren't as good as I was hoping for. But they looked pretty solid together tonight, Exum found Mitchell a couple of times and he had at least one other possible assist that I can remember but Mitchell missed the three.

It's a tricky one because it's something that I think the Jazz should definitely revisit again (see: my icon), but at the same time I want the Jazz to keep riding with lineups that are working to start racking up some more Ws as the schedule is finally starting to lighten. 4 game road trip coming up but after that 12 of their last 16 games before ASB are at home, and many against inferior competition like ****** Eastern conference teams coming in. Exum/3shooters/Favs is one of the better non-Mitchell/Gobert lineups the Jazz have had since Mitchell got here, and the +/- numbers with Rubio/Mitchell/Ingles/Crowder (or favs but crowders are better)/Gobert are really good too.

Really would love to see DMX flourish. Would be a beautiful thing on both ends of the court.

Rudy just needs someone to join him in the upper echelon of the league. Need Donovan to get there with him and if X can be a good third wheel then god damn we would really have something.

I mean it was the Knicks but it sure was fun

Dante has a handful of good games within 30ish games and people are already ready to hand him the starting PG position. Mabey he was playing against the dreadful Knicks? Weird. Dante is still a very mediocre PG with no vision and a elite first step.

Mitchell has struggled this year because teams have scouted his dribble drive game better and he's been *** on his open catch and shoot 3's, like awful. I don't think it's about the load being too much for him. He just didnt have a good off-season because of the toe and he's probably in his own head on his 3pt shot.

Mitchell is not 100% physically. No way. It's affecting everything he does and hurting his confidence. He needs a summer to heal.

I think our mentality should be develop Dante at all costs, BTW. He has shown too much to not let him play through mistakes.
Uhh, what?

I swear people are so weird on this.

Prior to this good Dante stretch he was benched for ****** play and a lot of people freaked out that he couldn't develop that way. Now he's playing well. So I guess Quin was right?

I'm sure if he's playing good more than he's playing poorly, he will be allowed to play though some mistakes. That was the case in the Portland game where he threw a terrible pass at the top of the key to Seth Curry, then failed to contest his shot in transition.

From here on out he needs to be given the benefit of the doubt just like we let Ricky(or Donovan) play through their terrible stretches.

And Rubio wasn't benched for equally ****** play. Thats the point he is trying to make.

It's not like people are asking to bench Kemba Walker so Exum can develop. They are asking Quin to limit the minutes of Jekyll and Hyde Rubio so Exum can evolve into something better.

Rubio has been terrible this year. I think a lot of the optimism is more about upgrading Rubio then Exums play himself. While I'm no where even close to crowning Exum anything more than a middle of the pack role player, at some point he needs the same leash that Rubio is afforded.
