What's new

Someone made a short compilation of officiating from the raptors game

Those late calls when the refs would wait to see if there ball went in the hoop for the raptors and then when they realized it was a miss they called the foul doe

Yeah, that's what I was talking about it. Annoying but they do it to everybody, especially when attacking player is a star.

3 of those fouls are Rudy sticking his forearm into drivers. That's probably not called all the time, but if they call it, you can't keep doing it.

The 4 calls that seemed kind of bogus to me are: The blocking foul on Dante, the fastbreak foul on Rubio (though why put yourself in that position if you arent going to challenge the layup), the poke out from behind on Ingles, and the fastbreak foul on Favors against Siakim.

Everything else seemed mostly legitimate or not a good angle for me to judge.

We lost because of the 10-0 run in the third, but you could argue that we could have come back and won.

I mean, a lot of arguments about officiating would be like a guy getting pulled over by police for speeding and then being shot. "He shouldn't have been speeding and this would have never happened." Yeah, true, but irrelevant. He also wouldn't have been shot if he weren't shot.
We got down to 4 points and let Leonard do whatever he wanted.

Agreed

A video like this could be made from the 2nd quarter of the 76ers game. Just destroyed by the refs for a whole quarter. Call those on Leonard and Siakam if you want, but call also the same contact on Crowder or Mitchell the other way. They didn't.

Think most people have nailed it here, Cy's points were pretty spot on and the late whistles that came because the refs were pretty clearly waiting to see if it was going in before they decided to call a foul is garbage but at the same time the Jazz didn't really adjust.

Only thing I'd point out was the video also neglected some missed fouls on the Jazz down the other end too in the 3rd which compounded the issue.

The NBA is legit a joke.

Lol. Looks like someone had a line to uphold. Amazing the jazz are never on the good end of these. Harden and co get these all day vs the jazz but only get the opposite treatment vs a team like the Warriors. Strange how that works.

Our coaching staff and players need to start throwing temper tantrums like Draymond. Seems to work in their favor.

To me the best manipulator of the refs was always Phil Jackson. I suppose this is really specific to during playoff series but the series would be 2-2 or something and he’d make public comments in that Phil tone (you know what I mean)...the next game they’d get a ton more calls, be up 3-2, and then Michael would win it in 6.

the old line is that the good and bad calls even out in the end, problem is the big market teams and star players always get the calls, so it never evens out. It is in effect like being a second class citizen, all players are equal but some are more equal than others. Take Westbrook's 8 fouls in the OKC game as an example.
