Jazz Play The Magic: A Gamethread 7pm Mountain TIme

100% honesty. I always thought we would win.
I have been banking on this tough schedule **** to the point of irrationality

Yes it’s not rational, but for some reason I knew they’d win, they weren’t playing well in the first half, but had this feeling I couldn’t shake, could be that I knew Orlando sucks and would inevitably let the jazz back in the game.

Missed the game, didn't even know there was a game, been too busy, just logged in, saw Donovan is back. So pumped.

You're an embarrassment. I at least knew the game was on but likewise was too busy to watch, saw the score at halftime I thought we had no hope of winning, was delighted with the result.

Ingles on fans booing:

Jazz were coming off a 4 game road trip and lost three rotation players including one starter. I 100% expected The Jazz come out slow and awkward - and The Magic coming out and shooting lights out didn't help either. I think The Jazz "fans" that were booing were showing their ignorance more than anything else.

At the same time, that's life in the NBA - that's life in all pro sports for that matter. Don't take it so personal Joe - you're a big boy. And if you think last night was bad just wait until the 140% raise in ticket prices kick in.

I'm not gonna look any different at Ingles but I disagree. That first quarter was a complete embarrassment. The team was not playing hard or giving any effort whatsoever. I genuinely feel our fanbase will stick up for this team through thick and thin when they at the very least give it their best and play hard. They've been pretty inconsistent this year, especially at home.

I even commented that the team just might not be very good. The reason I said that was that team often lacks heart, focus, and look downright uninterested at times. This team obviously has the talent to be good but good teams have to come out and be ready every single night. We're not speaking up on anybody like we did last year.

I don't think the boos meant anything more than fans displaying their frustrations with a team that's playing below their abilities. This team is better than that abomination we called that first quarter. This wasn't the first go around either.

This.
Ya fans might have been dumb for booing but players need to have thicker skin and perspective. Some fans spend money that they don't have to go to these games. Normal folks be broke as **** and the 100 bucks or whatever they spend to go to a game can be tough so it's upsetting for them to pay for those bad nights/stretches of bball. I mean it's like anything else you buy. If you buy something, anything, and it's turns out to be much worse than you expected it to be then you will be upset.

Fans gonna fan and yamers gonna yam. Players need to just suck it up, get their millions of dollars of guaranteed money, and let it roll off their backs.

Too bad our season is more than a month.
Trending doe.

And actually it's a really good thing our season is more than a month since that particular month of December was a brutal schedule and our record wasn't very good in December.

Regarding Joe's response to the fans booing, I think he's actually very much in the wrong. It's not a booing because you're losing, it's booing because you're putting on a sh@# show and the effort isn't any where near where it needed to be. Obviously they corrected course and pulled the game out but if they had put even half of that effort into the first half they would've gotten more crowd support.

I cannot stand lack of effort, especially at the professional level. If he doesn't like the boos, he needs to rally his team to get their heads our of their asses and play with some pride the whole game, win or lose.

Love that Donovan gave a shout out to Neto during his post-game interview.

Neto will have a 12 year jazz career and stay in the organization forever... everyone loves that dude.

He wasn’t great last night but I think he will bounce back... can never question his effort that’s for sure.

I think they were trying it was just bad... I’m not a big fan of booing a team at home... I don’t like Joe’s tone but imma pretend he’s only talking to the casual fans that would boo when the team is struggling. The “go on their little date nights” is belittling and would bother me if I thought he was referring to the diehards.

I’m general I hate when players take tones of belittling fans though the fans, blog boys, media, etc are part of what allow them to have a fabolous life.

So I’m torn here... fans shouldn’t boo... I like how Wiggins put it when asked... basically said we got some good fans and some ****** fans... ****** fans boo home teams.

Jesus, you and JazzyFresh are entitled pieces of work.

But maybe you know more about what’s going on than Joe Ingles. More about the NBA grind. More about basketball. More about this team. Yeah, we should all listen to DasJazz and JazzyFresh from Jazzfanz.com and the scattered nameless and faceless dorks at the arena last night that were treated to a ****ing WIN. A win I’m sure you all will take credit for.

Thanks for the win, you did it. It’s about you.

“Allow” them to have a fabulous life? This **** is transactional, fans do it because they enjoy it, not as a charity.

The money is there already. If you need to boo, boo the league and the owners. This can spin off into a conversation about labor or market economics gouging the consumer, but we’ll stop there.

Joe Ingles 2020.
