I have a relative, a member of the John Birch Society no less, who is a top executive in a Chinese company, who has lived in Shanghai for over a decade.

This is the place where former Emperors castrated their male palace help, though they allowed the eunuchs to keep their parts in a bottle of formaldehyde to be buried with them as a "whole man".

human rights? sanitary food? ethical medical practices? re-education camps? genocidal outrages against "unreliable minorities"? You better just practice that inscrutable smile.

I have a relative, also, who was on the Chinese Olympic team.

I was recently a guest in the home of Chinese family, really pretty decent people overall, who were quite emphatic about how the Chinese are the top dogs in the human gene pool.....

What could I say? I smiled and said something about what it takes to be oldest continuous culture on planet earth.... and they smiled too.

Even One Brow thinks that is OK, not any kind of racism....

They don't call themselves "tai" its Taiwanese, hua, han or their home ethnic group, of which the numbers are staggering.

Tai is a small ethnic group with roots below the Himalayan plateau. The tai'ya tribe in Taiwan (aboriginal) is sometimes called tai for short. Taiwanese and Chinese people generally scoff at being associated with anything that sounds like it could be from Thailand, as they view them as "less than"
 
My parents taught English there. They have had several students visit us here in the states. the student I have met have been very nice and fun to watch interact with our kids. I remember my parents had an air quality app. You want to download it to your phone before you leave due to filtered internet. Maybe the VPN can fix this, but good to do just in case.

I guess the pollution makes an SLC inversion look like childs play and you have to be smart about when you go outside. I guess they are also quite serious about the military parades. You will want to be informed about what is expected of you when those happen. Basically they film them and are particular about what the public does during the parades. My parents really enjoyed it!

Might as well ask this here: Ron since you work with some high level athletes, what's your opinion on what NBA player's PED use looks like? I know some people who knows some people who work with top athletes and they say they use exclusively HGH (with low does testosterone I'd assume). Makes sense. My guess would also include some EPO use in there as well.

If you are going to Beijing I strongly suggest to buy a property there, property prices in Beijing apparently raising every year and even if you decide to return back in the future it would be a good investment.
 
Well, things got rearranged a bit but I'm taking off next week. I've switched to working with the Chinese figure skating team. I'm flying to Delaware to meet up with the team for 2 weeks. Then I am staying with the team and flying back to China.
