No surprise to me. I've long assumed he was acting in Russia's interests. I'll soon be sick of the bs about "the deep state" that this news will spawn. In the end, it's all gonna come crashing down for Trump and his criminal empire. We're all gonna learn that he sold us out, methinks....

I’m a little more skeptical and here’s why:

Going back to the Paul Manafort’s idiotic lawyers releasing accidentally redacted information, he could have (a) been sending that information as a way to coordinate efforts with Russian intelligence and/or (b) been sending that information as a way to “show off.” He was deeply in debt with Russian oligarchs and could have merely been trying to show that Trump was still a contender in the race and that maintaining access to him through Manafort would prove beneficial to Russian oligarchs (and help Manafort settle some of his debts).

I’m sure the Trump team will try and make the case for option (b). And that this was solely done by Manafort and not authorized by Trump. I’m sure trump will give Manafort the “Cohen Treatment.” “Oh I had no idea Paul was doing xyz... you’ll have to ask him!”

However, it doesn’t mean that both weren’t happening either. I could see Manafort trying to save his own skin while knowing that the information he funneled to Russia would be used for illegal purposes.

Now as far as the Mueller report goes:

I’m skeptical that it’ll ultimately bring Trump down. He can’t be indicted without being impeached. Barr hasn’t shown a willingness to indict a sitting president. In fact, he’s written just the opposite. So trump needs to be impeached.

Republicans control the senate. I see no evidence that McConnell would allow an impeachment vote. And I see no evidence that the cult previously known as the “GOP” would ever vote to impeach.

Trump could literally invite Putin to his rallies, campaign in 2020 in Russian, and swim ala Scrooge McDuck in a pool full of dollar bills meant for furloughed government workers and 35 percent of this country would cheer him on.

Trump, together with Fox News and am radio has successfully built up a personality cult. Republicans will endure a treasonous president for

*checks notes*
Tax cuts and deregulation
Judges

So I don’t see this as being very impactful. I think most of us are already there. We know Trump is guilty. But we also know that even if the House successfully impeaches the Senate won’t convict.

Democrats will have to beat him in 2020 imo. And Sadly, if Trump wins re-election, The statutes of limitation on some of his other crimes will have passed.

Mitt Flake I mean Jeff Romney in less than 2 weeks shows why I don’t think The NY Times article is very meaningful. And why Repubs will refuse to do anything about him even if Mueller’s investigation reveals our worst fears about Trump.

Trump has built up a personality cult. The information is pretty much all there. Just the publicly available information is damning and would have led to the impeachment of any democrat. But republicans will refuse ego take any action against trump no matter what.

And now he’s been able to place two SC justices to side with him in the case of the superemacy of the executive. If Donald declares a national emergency today to raid FEMA to provide him with border wall funding, think the SC with Kavanaugh will rule against him? If he were to block the release of Mueller’s report to the public, think the SC would rule against him?

I certainly have my doubts. But isn’t this what the repubs wanted? They’ve beeen wanting a strong man for quite some time. Now they got one.

And a Strong Man having 5 meetings with another Strong Man, and confiscating notes, because Strong Men dispise democracy, and besides, "our" Strong Man is just a tool of a Russian Strong Man. Maybe even a Manchurian candidate when all is said and done, and the truth is finally out there for all to see....

President Trump has gone to extraordinary lengths to conceal details of his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, including on at least one occasion taking possession of the notes of his own interpreter and instructing the linguist not to discuss what had transpired with other administration officials, current and former U.S. officials said.

Also, can anyone think of another time when the president regularly and randomly would call Into some news show? I know I can’t. What the hell is he doing calling into Fox News on a Saturday night? Doesn’t he have... a country to run?

I know if I were president and under investigation for conspiracy with Russia, the first thing I’d do to clear any suspicions is have a private meeting with Putin and conceal the notes...

"You know, there's so many questions raised," Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois said. On ABC's "This Week." "Why is he so chummy with Vladimir Putin, this man who is a former KGB agent, never been a friend to the United States, invaded our allies, threatens us around the world, and tries his damndest to undermine our elections, why is this President Trump's best buddy? I don't get it."

"When he takes the interpreters notes and wants to destroy them so no one can see what was said in written transcript, you know it raises serious questions about the relationship between this president and Putin," Durbin said.
