What has Jimmer done to improve from a second round hopeful a year ago to now deserve a lottery pick?

If he goes to the Jazz, will he be given the green light to come down and shoot a 3 with 18 seconds left on the shot clock? Will he be given the option to dribble the ball for ever like Steve Nash in the Jazz's system? Will he put effort into defense, which he never had to do at BYU?

BTW, I like Jimmer but don't think he is a good fit for the Jazz's offense

He is definitely a good fit for the Jazz offense, none of his questions marks are on offense as far as I'm concerned. He can get his own shot, and I think he will slowly become a 6-8 APG kind of point guard. Defensively his questions are limitless.

He led the nation in PPG by a wide margin, made BYU a top five team until sexual encounters by his teammates and won some award called the Naismith.

The answer to your questions are no, he won't be able to do that. The thing I like about him is that he realizes that and will change his game accordingly. I'm fine with him at #12, but not at #3.

Well winning the Player of the Year certainly is proving something. What has any of these players proven? I read an article that said NY wanted to draft Jimmer last year but they couldn't because they didn't want have a first round pick.

I guess I can see him coming off some screens and running P&R but when will he get in his good dose of pull up 3's?

But what part of his game improved? He was always a shooter and didn't play more defense. I'm just if the scouts are too high on him now or were way too low on him before or in between

Do I want Jimmer to do any of these things in his rookie season? Hell no. I wouldn't have wanted DWill to do this in his first year either.

Who in the draft, including Irving, Knight and Walker would you want to do this? The answer is none.

Perspective people.....perspective.

IMO the biggest thing Jimmer showed this year as opposed to last year was that if you play him tight, he has a good enough handle to penetrate the defense and score on that little move where he shields the defender w/his off-shoulder - what I call being "strong with ball." His drive game won't be a strength, but I think it's improved enough to be effective against some teams.

Worst-case Jimmer will be a high-scoring backup PG who doesn't guard anyone but at times will be able to give his team a dynamic offensive boost off the bench. Defensively, I'm certain he'll be a poor individual defender - but my biggest concern is I'm not sure he's capable (or willing) to be a good team defender. If he can convince you otherwise that he can be a solid team defender, I think in this draft he's a decent option at #12 if several other prospects (Burks, Biyombo, Valanciunas) are off the board.

In Jazz basketball - I think he could thrive in a '96-98 Howard Eisley uptempo-role off the bench where they push the ball hard w/the 2nd unit and run alot of sets that get him the ball on the wing (side pick&roll and off-ball action coming off screens). Now, I'm not sure if that's worthy of the #12 pick, but I also think the Jazz could do worse than that at #12 too.

Well none of the other guys in the draft came down and pulled up from 30 feet with only a couple seconds off the shot clock...

Really? Klay Thompson, Marshon Brooks and Charles Jenkins......that's just off the top of my head. They all had the green light and took a ton of shots early in the clock....just like Jimmer.
