2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Jrue's ability on defense and ability to score negates any negative on the 3 point line. He has averaged at least 15.4ppg the last 4 years. Rubio's best offensive season ever was 13.1ppg.

Jrue is the type of guy who helps us beat Golden State and Houston. If we want to be a contender, we need as many of those guys as we can get.

Jrue is 37.5% on catch and shoot threes this season. He is a threat with the ball... gets to the rim and finishes at a 67% clip... good in the midrange too.

I think his defense is a pretty big upgrade over Ricky's... and I think Ricky is a good defender.

this is the type of deal, but we'd give a first too for sure. Jrue is super valuable... Might be slightly overpaid, but a true two way guy that guards everyone from PGs to KD is worth it and a need imo.

Whether they keep AD or trade him this summer, NOLA getting Exum, two firsts and long term financial flexibility for Jrue is pretty dang strong.

Favors + Exum + a 1st is a very strong offer...

That is promising that he could play well off the ball. He would get more of those looks in our offense. He only shoots 1.9 catch and shoots 3s a game. The rest are pull up 3s that he shoots 3.1 per game at 29.5%. Hopefully those would go down.

How about this:

Charlotte gets Favors
Utah gets Jrue and Mirotic
NOLA gets Biyombo, Exum, Thabo, Charlotte 2019 1st, Utah 2019 1st, Utah 2019 2nd, Utah future 2nd

Why for Charlotte: Biyombo is worthless whereas Favors really fits well there for both this year and next.

Why for Utah: Two great players who fit what we need. And we get to keep Rubio to help us off the bench.

Why for NOLA: 2 1st round picks, a project PG with a ton of potential, a better roster to tank with, and a clearer financial future from 2020 on.

Let's just go trade for AD. The Pels can have anyone they want who is not named Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles.

Then we win all of the championships.

Both Holiday and Conley have "Jazz DNA" and would fit in soooooooo well with the locker room and personalities we have.

Switch Biyombo for Zeller and I think that's an intriguing trade.

One thing I hope doesn't happen... AD and Paul George were somewhat courageous in doing the trade request thing. So hopefully he doesn't get boo'd or treated like the villain.

Really does the franchise a solid and opens them up for criticism. Hayward to Boston I think was very much a done deal for 12 months, but he never bothered to tell us... even pre-free agency some notice would have helped.

Right... look at their current roster... you understand why he may force it a bit. I don't think he's a guy that you sag off of.

I would have some injury concern, but that seems to be past him.

Read the Zach Lowe article on him... you will want him more than AD after... I kid, but he's a remarkable man that has his head on straight.

Jrue was 39.4 3P% on catch and shoot last year.

He is also a great pick and roll player (per Locke... those numbers have disappeared from NBA.com). Snyder coached him as a rookie as well... per Locke again.

The arena will be mostly empty so I don't think there will be many boo's.
