2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Nope, I'm walking my firsts over to the ClippersMart. . .
Or that. Just tell them we're moving it and if they don't decide, we're out. We need to move on and not miss out on other **** because we're waiting on Memphis. **** them.

With all the cap clearing moves out there, a team like Miami is chomping at the bit to clear space for the future. This is a left field type move which makes all 3 teams better:

Heat get Biyombo, Lamb and a 1st from Utah (maybe more if we must)
Hornets get Favors and Waiters
Jazz get Winslow and Olynyk

Why for Miami - they don't want to lose Winslow, but they must give up something for dumping the long term deals of under-performing and unhappy Waiters and Olynyk. Miami is the type team who believes they can lure free agents in 2020. After this deal, they could offer two max contract players to add to Josh Richardson and Bam Adebayo. They also save a ton of luxury money in this deal.

Why for Charlotte - they get much better now which is the most important thing since they are hosting the All Star Game and want to keep Kemba long term. They could still pursue Gasol which makes them that much stronger this year.

Why for Utah: we get a piece for the future in Winslow. Olynyk isn't a bad option to backup Gobert either.

Don't take Windhorst's word for the gospel. Reporters throw everything against the wall and their sources are a mix of internet forums, things they've heard offhand from rabblerousers and everything else.

Utah might not be Conley's first choice and there's actual merit to that, but I think it's silly to think he's going to not play well for us and sulk when he's had ample years to do that in MEM yet has been a model player.

DL won't do this. Idk why, but he won't. Jazz will be left empty handed yet again, and we will hear the same old drivel this summer about "we're always looking to improve yadayada blah blah..." and then they'll hope to land a once in a blue moon draft pick a la Donovan or Rudy in the draft and maintain "financial flexibility". Same old story every year.

Preach it!

I think it's kind of irrelevant even if Conley doesn't want to come to Utah (which I'm skeptical of, given what a professional Conley is). He's on a multiple year contract, and he'll show up and do his best. And he'll grow to love having the most success of his career (WCF baby).

I think we're getting Conley. Keep in mind I don't really want us to get him. But we're getting him.

Side Note: this buyout ******** is ridiculous. If a team signs a player who is bought out, they should lose their 2nd rounder or something. If anybody wants to talk about how the smaller markets get screwed over, it's crap like this. Houston has a 2 game lead on us because they picked up Rivers and Faried for a bargain. Such bs.

Thriller I have never encountered anyone who views all of life through such narrow and tinted glasses. You find confirmation of your bias everywhere you look. You have become what you started out criticizing.
Also will never admit fault. I mean, most people would be like "oh I thought we were talking about Joe Ingles, my bad" or something.

Or "ya I shouldn't be posting political crap in this thread, my bad"

Is also one of those people who seem unwilling to give props to others. Rarely ever saying something like "good post", or "good point, I hadn't thought of that"

And there is no changing his mind about something.
