2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

They must be looking elsewhere. Or punishing LAL for obvious tampering.

Not necessarily the wrong move but definitely risky - if no deal is made and they keep AD then they have to deal with the potential PR nightmare of owning but not playing a Top 5 player in the league for the rest of the season.

they never wanted to trade AD... I love the narrative Lakers are pushing that "they" did this to ruin "our" chemistry and that they didn't negotiate in good faith... so egocentric.

NO never negotiated in good faith because they never engaged with LA. The rumors and **** all came from LA... they did this to themselves... not saying NO didn't enjoy it, but I love the narrative that it was a devious plan.

They will hold him out and be justified in doing so... League can say whatever they want... dude demanded a trade and did so openly.

They will potential be able to steal the 1 or 2 pick or SGA and a pile of picks or Tatum and a pile of picks... they just want the best package. If you are giving up $100 for a nice dinner you want steak or lobster... not 100 ham sandwiches... Lakers assets are ham sandwiches...

Shams hasn't tweeted in 13 hours, Tony hasn't said anything meaningful since yesterday, WTF IS GOING ON?! I need INFO from the sources.

I'm telling you that front office ownership group has issues in Memphis. Gasol has been at the 1 yard line for like 2 days.

Memphis delusion of what they have is going to cost them getting anything in return for guys that clearly don't fit their direction anymore. It's not anyones fault but their own that they waited too long to let go of Conley and Gasol when the whole league saw that team had capped out long ago.

If the Jazz give in, they will be clowns. Stick to the original offer and if they pass, wish them luck and move on to other targets.

At least we aren't the Rockets... made yet another cap saving deal today... they took a contender and stripped it down because of the tax. Someone should have offered something good for Capela last offseason... I bet they would have balked.

Starting to think Gasol and Conley aren’t going anywhere, because asking price is too high. WOJ reported on espn yesterday morning that a Gasol trade was almost done, and that all was needed was to decide protections on draftpicks moving. So what gives, why is Gasol still a griz?

I really don't think Memphis is going to move Conley. I hope DL has moved on to other targets by now.

They're going to sign like 6 guys off the buyout market, they'll be fine.

.

Yeah, but what does that tell the rest of the players on the team? Or for that matter every free agent in the league.

We expect you to go out and bust your *** every night while we shelf a top 5 player in the league indefinitely out of spite?

If that happens I guarantee you Jrue will be looking to get his ticket punched next.

Trades are fun and all, but I'm also down to be players in free agency. Let's all hope Tobias hates Philly

That's the problem though, historically the Jazz have never been players in free agency. If they're ever going to find that third piece to go with Donovan and Rudy it's going to have to be through trade or the draft because we aren't getting any marquee free agents.

I wonder if Sacramento would make Bjelica available with the trades they made yesterday... would help them clear a little cap maybe... they are close to full max space.
