Jazz are going to renounce Rubio, I'm pretty positive unless we win a championship.

Favors will be renounced as well if he isn't used in a trade (he has a late guarantee date for that reason).

There is 0 reason to not be optimistic for this off-season.

It's about time for the Jazz to do another Okur/Boozer type of deal in the summer. Getting young RFA players with tremendous upside from other teams and turn them into stars/allstars. It's been 15 years.

And I don't know how any of this is goal poast shifting.

Did I want a deal to happen for Conley? Yeah, but it didn't have to happen.

Nothing about this season rested on a deadline deal. And major deadline deals are tough to integrate.

The goal post have always been on the 2019 off season. The Jazz could have moved them up if a good opportunity was available that outweighed the risk of 2019 free agency, but that didn't happen.

A couple hours ago you gave me a guarantee that we wouldn't have both these guys on the roster by 3PM EST. How on earth are you prognosticating 5 months out?
 
I'm just happy that we didn't overpay to get any established players who are on the wrong side of their 30s and bear pricy contracts. Now just gotta capitalizes it in the summer. DL certainly has the money and space to do it. Please don't disappoint.

Yeah, I thought it would happen. Clearly I was wrong and underestimated Memphis's patience.

I assumed the Jazz had higher values placed on a guy like Porter, but they either didn't or didn't have the pieces that team wanted in return.

I also assumed the Jazz didn't have free agency confidence, but I guess they do. That's good to see.

I mean, my point is... things that appear obvious from some angle end up being not so. Why are we so confident about what we will or won't do in the future? We can look back on things now in hindsight and rationalize why things don't go to possible plan. Is that not a possibility in the future, that things don't go to plan and we sit back saying "well, yeah, it didn't, but here's why..."
 
When do the Jazz have to opt in to Favors and Korver? Might be before they know if any decent FA needs to settle on an offer.

Ricky can just have a cap hold until DL decides to bring him back.

You guys who are expecting Dennis to be a big player in free agency are delusional. Everyone except Thabo and Udoh will be back. Then Lindsey will again be deciding whether to give the last roster spot to a scrub or use the MLE on a mid-tier FA.

I know we joke about it, but the health of the players will be the biggest "acquisition" for next season.
