Jazz sit 7th in standings and will have to fight to make the playoffs

Lebron is back and the young Kuzma , Ingram , Ball can get back to playing basketball after surviving the trade deadline. I don't know who bets against Lebron but I don't. Lakers are going to come ballin to make the playoffs.
Sacramento got better ,they found their SF in Harrison Barnes and picked up Alex Burks to go with a good 2nd unit in Bagley,Giles and Bogdanovic.They are going to be very hard to outscore going against any team.
Jazz are in the weak part of their schedule but this whole season says they might not get hot like last year and leave skid marks going into the playoffs. Jazz need to take the leash off of Exum.He works great with Favors and Gobert and can get to the basket anytime he wants and like it or not Jazz are committed to Exum and Favors this season.

In front of the Jazz will any team come backwards to them …...Houston picks up Shumpert who will help defensively and maybe allow Eric Gordon to come off the bench in his 6th man role and Capela will be coming back. Even Portland quietly gets better IF Rodney Hood can play to his potential and Skal Labissiere grows with the change of scenery. San Antonio is playing above their heads but are great veterans that don't look to wilt .
I think Enes Kanter will be looking at Houston and Sacramento when his buyout goes through as both Houston and Sacramento need rebounding.
Jazz only way to get better is to finally see what Exum brings to the table with more playing time .Why else did they turn down trade offers for him.
 
Tl;dr the schedule is really easy. We should make the playoffs and go in with irrationally high confidence.

If I’m DL I tell the team that if they want to stay together, great, we will keep you together only on the condition that you win.
 
The 3rd seed is actually not unrealistic. Not the most likely outcome, but it's very possible.

I also think Rubio will be playing with more confidence now that he wasn't traded and the return of Exum will give us a boost.

Nice to see ,but I think it will be a 4 team race between Lakers, Sacramento, San Antonio, and Utah for the bottom 3 spots in the playoffs. Because of the play of the Jazz this year while being healthy minus the ankle injury to Exum there's no guarantee the Jazz will win all the games their suppose too.
 
Looking at the schedule, the Jazz should win 50 games and end up with the 4 or 5 seed.

They can go 19-8 to finish, maybe better.
 
Jazz play a ton of teams in March that already has or will be packing it in for the season.

They have to go 19-8 the rest of the way to win 50 games - I think that's do'able.

I have them finishing between 4 and 6 with LAL in and LAC out.

Nah, that is dumb.

We are the 7th seed after having the hardest schedule in the NBA. We arent going to get worse now that we have the easiest schedule in the West.

I love Exum, but he doesnt matter to us this year as far as the W/Ls go. If he turns a corner maybe he helps us win more but we are the same if he is out the rest of the year.

Not exactly like Gobert and Mitchell, but after acquiring Crowder and Korver for Hood and Burks, I think the Cavs GM has stopped taking calls from Lindsey.
 
The Jazz could completely suck *** for the rest of the month and still make it into the playoffs because of the cupcake March schedule, the question of whether the Jazz can beat enough good teams to get HCA is more interesting to me.
 
We will get into the playoffs, might get out of the first round and win a game or 2 in the 2nd round. That is what this team is buit to do and it will perform to those standards. That's about it.

Exactly, it means nothing to beat crappy teams and lose against competitive teams.
 
If Mitchell keeps progressing and they can get more hip-hop blood out of his system, and Rubio doesn't reqress in his outside shooting and concentrates on getting that ball down low to our inside guys, and we control the "out of control" alley-oops" and wild 3 point shots....we will be a tough out in both the 1st and 2nd round just like last year! We didn't upset the apple cart by making wholesale changes in our roster but other teams have and that's to our advantage.

You may believe this, but I would not dignify it by calling it "thought".

Me. I'm the guy betting against LeBron. Best the Lakers do is the 8 seed and get swept by the Warriors. They are going to add Melo. This team may be able to eek out a decent seed in the East. This ain't that.

Ya I think they miss the playoffs too. The LeBron injury set them back too much.
If he didn't get hurt, they get in no doubt
