Jazz sit 7th in standings and will have to fight to make the playoffs

Tl;dr the schedule is really easy. We should make the playoffs and go in with irrationally high confidence.

If I’m DL I tell the team that if they want to stay together, great, we will keep you together only on the condition that you win.

Tl;dr.

I couldn't write two sentences by my own rules.

Lebron is back and the young Kuzma , Ingram , Ball can get back to playing basketball after surviving the trade deadline. I don't know who bets against Lebron but I don't. Lakers are going to come ballin to make the playoffs.
Sacramento got better ,they found their SF in Harrison Barnes and picked up Alex Burks to go with a good 2nd unit in Bagley,Giles and Bogdanovic. They are going to be very hard to outscore going against any team.
Jazz are in the weak part of their schedule but this whole season says they might not get hot like last year and leave skid marks going into the playoffs. Jazz need to take the leash off of Exum.He works great with Favors and Gobert and can get to the basket anytime he wants and like it or not Jazz are committed to Exum and Favors this season.

In front of the Jazz will any team come backwards to them …...Houston picks up Shumpert who will help defensively and maybe allow Eric Gordon to come off the bench in his 6th man role and Capela will be coming back. Even Portland quietly gets better IF Rodney Hood can play to his potential and Skal Labissiere grows with the change of scenery. San Antonio is playing above their heads but are great veterans that don't look to wilt .
I think Enes Kanter will be looking at Houston and Sacramento when his buyout goes through as both Houston and Sacramento need rebounding.
Jazz only way to get better is to finally see what Exum brings to the table with more playing time .Why else did they turn down trade offers for him.

So how do you think Donovan Mitchell fits into all this?

I'm not worried about making the playoffs (barring an injury to Rudy or Donovan).

The Jazz have 11 games left against the East and the Suns. I think they win 9 of them. They have 16 games against the rest of the West. I think they win 8 of them at least. That's 17 more wins, which is good for 48 wins. That should be enough to make the playoffs this year.

Honestly I think they'll win 50 this year.

Lol. Can write the longest posts on JF, but is too busy to watch Jazz games and gets summary from brother.

Ha ha.

Times change, bro.

I don't have a "home" where there is a TV with ESPN or in fact, anything but KBYU, maybe some other locals, and ROKU or whatever. When I'm in town, I'm doing my chores. Motel "Life's Good" selections for sports hardly ever feature the Jazz.

bro won't miss a game, for sure. I played street ball, asphalt. No fancy pants. I played hard against my bro, who is several inches taller and extremely.... MAX.... competitive and never gave "gimmes". I did OK. I need to be informed to visit him.

old now. teen kids playing BB right now. Ward ball. Painful to watch.

I like Donovan Mitchell. I thought "Air Jordan" got free extra steps without dribbling just because it made BB look good. I like guts and someone who's wiling to put it all out there, I don't like coaches much.

They all remind me of the "sisters" who coach my girls and teach timidity.

My bro is critical of the coach and thinks Exum isn't the answer, Mitchell has potential. bro wouldn't accept anyone who just agrees with him. Gotta have your own opinion, with reasons.

Life's good.

I'll never be a socialist.

Lakers beat a healthy Celtics team in Boston …..the Lebron effect for those who doubt Lebron . Jazz will have to pile up wins and win the games their suppose too.

We'll make the playoffs. I'm not sure we'll win in the playoffs though. We aren't as good as last year. And the competition is better than last year.

Just another butt hurt bitch that the jazz didn’t do some crappy trade. We didn’t do a trade and some how we aren’t making the playoffs even though the west didn’t do much of anything to get better, even though we did improve through trade this year. Lmao

We were 99.9% chance we'd make the plays a few years back and guess what? we didn't make it

When was this share a..... was it the year we lost to the clippers bench. If so I highly doubt we were 99% to make the playoffs. We had Hayward instead of Mitchell and Gobert wasn’t the player he is now, neither was Ingles was Burke our starting pg that year. Lol. Don’t be an idiot, just another butt hurt bitch!! Disgusting if you ask me.

Butt hurt bitch ,huh...…...dumba$$es who always call other jazz fanz names because their a little DUH slow. No one here says Jazz aren't going to make the playoffs but there's no guarantees. Games still have to be won .Until the games are played and won then it's a playoff race.

I think the Jazz will make the playoffs, but am a little concerned about our 14-18 record against .500+ teams.

We have:

3 games vs. the Suns
2 games vs. the Clippers without Tobias
2 games vs. the Wizards without Wall or Porter
2 games vs. the Lakers (though I suppose we could lose one)
2 games vs. the Pels, though they still have Davis
1 game vs. Memphis, though who knows what team they'll pull together after the Toronto trade
1 game vs. Dallas (with some Knicks players) at home
1 game vs. Sacramento at home
1 game vs. Minnesota at home
1 game vs. Chicago
1 game vs. New York (who is tanking)
1 game vs. Atlanta
1 game vs. Charlotte
1 game vs. Brooklyn at home

That's 20 games where the Jazz will be favored in all, except possibly one against the Lakers.

2 games with Denver (home and away)
2 games with OKC (home and away)
1 game at GSW
1 game with SAS at home
1 game vs. Milwaukee at home

If we can win 3 of these 7 games at least, that should put us in good shape.

I'm not really worried about making the playoffs, I am worried about making it out of the first round though. I don't love our chances against any of GS, Denver, OKC, Houston or Portland.

I'd rather get the 7th seed and match up with the Nuggets than face OKC in the 3-6 or Houston in a 4-5 matchup.

Another thing--in the playoffs, we're going to need Dante Exum and possibly Royce O'Neale to be able to score in isolation. I'm more optimistic about Exum in that regard.

lol at everyone saying the Jazz have a 99% chance of making the playoffs.

I think they do too but this was their odds of making the playoffs on March 28th, 2016:

Anyone remember how that season ended?

And that's relevant how? That was a completely different set of circumstances. The Jazz only won 40 games and lost a tie-breaker to Houston for the 8th seed.

It's relevant because odds mean dick this far out. How is that not relevant?

Jazz are a better team that ranks higher in the western conference, and they have an easier schedule. Sure, the Jazz have to win probably 15 or 16 more games to make the post-season. They'll do that. The question is whether they'll win a round.
