I legit have no idea what kind of money he will be looking for, or if after LA/BK he would want to be here. But, I feel he’s the type of free agent that is sorta in our wheelhouse (thinking Boozer/Memo style of picking them up at the right time on a true breakout season right at as their free agency hits).

I know he never gets to the line and that’s a problem but the flexibility of his size, another ball handler to go with DM/Jingles/Exum and his ability to get buckets is tantalizing.

He seems to feed Allen really well in the post so I think he could run P&R with Rudy.....

Anyway, I’ll defer to those that have seen him more than me (please use facts and not what someone on Twitter told you if you’ve never actually watched him play...). Is he a guy you go and take a gamble on with our cap space, who’s age and trajectory, along with our coaching staff, help make this kid a great piece long term?

We would still have some space and MLE to nab a stretch 4?

I wonder if the Nets would match a max offer, not that I'd offer it. He's technically an all-star, but he's an injury replacement in the East... but nevertheless he has All-Star attached to his name and he's only 22 (almost 23). Wonder if he just re-signs for 20-ish million a year without testing the market.

I think a lot depends on what the Nets try and do in free agency. As noted in the article, they can’t get a max guy with his cap hold.

Do they think with Dinwiddie in that spot and cheap that they let Russell walk and look to sign a marquee free agent?

27M to start. He ain’t worth that... I’m really not sure he’s worth 15m... all star but in the JV league. East is such trash outside of 5 teams.

Nets actually seem legit, and he’s a big part of that; see Suns for opposite example. But I won’t pretend I’ve watched him much.

I didn't dig too deep, but it looks like they have almost 81mil on the books for next season and the salary cap is 109mil. Also holy **** like half of their salary right now is in dead money. Spotrac says they have 28mil in practical cap space, but I dunno if it depends on their draft pick and if they re-sign Oubre or whoever.

I'm not sure how true that is, they were just as good at the start of the season when LeVert was fully healthy and basically shouldering the load DLo is now. Dimwiddie has put up big games in the DLo role.

I think it's more of a credit to Kenny Atkinson and the Nets organisation that they're able to plug and play all these guys and still be really good.
