DM on AD

Lol you know the Porzingis thing was fabricated, right?
You’re the moron because you couldn’t comprehend what I was saying could you?

Every player has the choice to sign a short contract for less money, or a log contract with a lot of money and commit to a contract to stay somewhere. Understand now Cy? When you choose to sign the 5 year deal with all that luxury and security, don’t bitch before you’ve fulfilled what you committed your own damn self to.

I think the player/team power balance is basically perfect.

Teams get to draft players and pay them super cheaply for 4 years, then they get 3-5 more years on the 2nd contract.

Then there is a window when a player becomes expiring on their 2nd contract when they have the "trade demand" power.

If anything the power is too tilted towards teams/owners.
No

Well, if we want to move back out into discussing the macro, where you said that players signing one year deals handicaps teams, then I’d say they are free to do so. I don’t think the league should step in to address that and despite it being true, I’m for it. And teams can choose whether they want to do that or not.
If it’s so bad for the team why do all the players sign the max contract? Because it’s a worse bargain for them to sign that one year deal. But I digress, Sy is as he would say..... a moron.

You're a moron. He isn't bitching. Hes saying I'm not staying past this contract, so you should trade me. He still wants to play his contract out if it comes to that. Hes helping the team.

Who uses the word “moron” anyway lol. No, you just want to run circles around what AD is actually doing and that’s attempting to undermine the contract he signed. Keep ranting dumbass.

Lol I jumped from page 2 to page 8 to see where they finally stopped the "you're a moron...no you're a moron" **** and the first post on page 8 was "no, you're a moron". lol

Charles Barkley thinks New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis made a mistake with his trade request.
Barkley, an 11-time All-Star who works as an analyst for TNT, said he thinks Davis and his agent, Rich Paul, mishandled the situation.

"Don't ruin your reputation as a great player, one of the nicest guys in the world," Barkley told reporters on Thursday

"Remember, your agent works for you, you don't work for him. They handled that situation wrong. It's going to come back to bite them in the a***. It's unfortunate."

"This is a bad situation," Barkley said. "It's a bad look for the NBA. Because that kid can't go out there and give 100 per cent because he’s worried about getting hurt. The guy's the second-best player in the world and he's got three points? That's not a good look for the NBA."

It's in no way undermining the contract. They should be thankful they got unreasonable RFA rights to him so they could have him this long. If he just kept his mouth shut and "honored his contract" then left, the damage wold be 10x worse.

The issue is that he was too much of a nice guy and made the trade request too early. He gave the Pelicans too much power.

More on that whole equal footing thing.......
Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma: ‘I’d rather be talked about bad in L.A. than play in Orlando and not get talked about’

No one said its equal footing. Small markets have to make smarter decisions and be better run. Orlando is not one of those smart teams. If Kuz used Utah or Milwaukee instead, I'd be more worried.

Love Donovan. Hate this argument. It’s uninformed and only looks at one side of the coin.

There are many differences between being a contracted employee vs at-will/salaried like most of us schmucks. Part of the terms of an NBA contract are that 1) you will play for that team for the duration of the deal, and 2) minus a few exclusions they can trade you at any time. In return for these considerations, you are very highly compensated.

Don’t like that arrangement? Don’t sign the contract. Don’t like the general way these deals are structured? Take it up with the league during collective bargaining.

Having said all this, and assuming he will honor the rest of his deal, I have no issue with what AD did. He’s doing NO a favor long-term compared to where Hayward left us if they can trade him for real assets. But I don’t agree that should have any say whatsoever about where he’s dealt in the meantime. That’s the choice you get to make in free agency.

Yes it is.
