I think the offer was fair, but I also don’t think adding (or not adding) Exum was really a big scale-tipper (on either side) in that transaction, which is why I’m baffled that he was the threshold we wouldn’t cross.

I don’t think he really was. They “asked” about him and we said “no” is what was reported.

I think if they came back and said if Exum is in you have a deal we probably say yes.

I think we made a fair offer and they may have asked for more so we tossed in a couple seconds. I think they sat on it and then realized we wouldn’t offer an additional first and nothing else we had that were willing to part with would be on the table... so they just folded their cards and said eff it... rather than additional negotiations.

We don’t have enough shooters. At the end of the day Mitchell is the only player we have who can consistently score on his own. We desperately need more offense. Without Mitchell, I’m not sure if we score more than 60 or 70 a game.
