Bucks at Jazz: 7pm MT

I would say that Dirk and wade WERE superstars but are not currently.

On a nightly basis, I agree with you here. But - If they did what Donovan did last night, it would be everywhere in the way that Cy labels a superstar.

When Dirk and Wade retire, their places will be taken by Doncic and hopefully Donovan. Both could be in the top 10 superstar type conversation. For Donovan, we need a lot of magic like last night. We need playoff magic.

If Dirk or Wade did what Donovan did last night then I would say they had a superstar level game, just like Donovan did. I wouldn't say that they are superstar players this year though even if they had a game like that just like I don't think Donovan is either. Need to be a top player in the league. Dirk and wade and Donovan are not top players. Donovan is closer than those two.

Like a superstar is like if we did a nba fantasy draft. Who would be the top 5,6,7,8 or so picks? Those would be your superstars.
Lebron, kahwi, AD, Durant, Steph, harden. Those types. Wade and Dirk don't come close even if they have a 46 point game in one game. Donovan comes kind of close. Where would he be drafted in this fantasy draft though? Maybe somewhere around 20-30 maybe?

I just don’t understand why one would try to disprove someone as not good because of one bad game. He has a full year of very good games. Not saying we should sign him for sure or anything but if his next game is very good, does that mean we should sign him. Lol... idiot!

He is overrated and sucks on d. He is a maestro at being inconsistent. So yeah it's been more than one game and oh yeah Favors is way better than him. Lol yeah so those who want to overpay saw why they were idiots last night , so yeah you are one of them. Down with the Miroshi* fan club. Favors says I own him. Thanks

Me too. Hopefully we have home court.

Really the only team I don't want to play is Houston cause I don't want to watch harden.

My preference would be to play Spurs/Lakers/Clips/Sac in the first round, and Denver in the second. Don't want to face either OKC or Houston, although I think we'd have a fair chance against either.

I don't have an opinion on this. I have actual factual evidence. Evidence that spans the last 1.75 years, not a game you just watched.

You are the person who is using opinion.
I honestly didn’t know that you were needing to go so far back to make the numbers work. Are those numbers still in your favor if you look at just this year? If not that would lend more credit to my eyes, which would be nice self validation.

And you can just consider me a believer in the “Rubio was Mitchell’s training wheels” theory and we can agree to disagree.

Go Jazz

Definitely want one of those three. I think they will finish 7,8,9 though and we won't finish 1st or 2nd.
I mean we will be playing blazers, thunder, or Houston. I think you can basically guarantee that.
I think the thunder are the toughest team though all three are pretty tough. I would prefer blazers, then thunder, then Houston cause I don't want to watch harden
I think we could beat all three of them and all the of them could beat us.

Max worthy is a hard one. He is more Robin than Batman. But we don't really need Batman, we have the Spida! (sorry for the cheese) Middleton would be a good fit for our team and may be worth pursuing this off season. He might be the "get-able" fringe all-star. His fan base has had enough, maybe the front office feels the same way. The truth is we need someone, if nothing else to show Rudy and DM that we are serious about building a true contender.

Would we rather overpay for Middleton, or someone like him, or stand pat and try to grow from within? We will likely have to overpay somebody to come to Utah, unless we make it beyond the second round. If we are playing in the conference finals this year, the momentum and appeal to come play with this team may just encourage a good player to come and become great alongside DM and Rudy. Middleton might be that guy, if not him...who else?

If we could get Middleton for the max, I would do it. And not because I think he is worth max, but because we dont attract those level free agents.

ROTFL at all of you arguing a star between a superstar. They are one in the same as far as what you think a superstar is. A star is a player so skilled that he elevated his team. An allstar is not necessarily a star.

Thanks to the nba paying above average players star money they had to come up with a new monicker, so we started calling the best of the best superstars. Social media also helped to give birth to the meaning of superstar. I’m old school so when I say star, I’m talking about the best of the best. Superstar has always been another way to describe someone famous, a very successful celebrity usually a singer or popular movie star or the Donald Trump’s , and Steven Hawking’s or Oprah Winfrey’s of the world.

A LBJ is both a star (because he’s the best basketball player) and superstar (Celebrity)

Superstar is someone popular in mainstream media. A star makes up the 0.1% who are head and shoulders the best in basketball. That is both Gobert and Mitchell. Mitchell is a superstar in the making.

People would say Mitchell hasn’t been a star. Very few rookies have done what Mitchell has done, leading his team in offense, and elevating his team, and doing what he did in his first playoffs. There is a reason Gobert is so much better this year then last year. Because of the threat of Mitchell on offense. Teams put all of their focus on Mitchell, it’s easy to forget how young Mitchell is and he is still learning to make good decision, good Basketball decisions. This accounts for his lack of efficiency therefore people saying he’s not a star, ONE OF THE 0.1%. That is what both Mitchell and Gobert are. Why do you think Giannis Resorted to fouling Gobert, because Gobert made life hell for him in the first meeting. The only reason He got the better of Gobert was because the refs let him, otherwise Gobert would’ve had him in foul trouble

So you idiots are arguing because none of you know what superstar means, friggin idiots!!

I reallyenjoyed Memo coming back being part of the broadcast. I really wish it would happen more often.
