There's been no real reason to go all-in while the GS juggernaut has been around
I know, I know. I'm an Exum homer.
Averaging 20/10 is pretty crazy. That's his potential. Course, I may be high.
Lmfao. He couldn’t even do that in the g league.
I hear fans of many teams say this a lot. I disagree. I don't think that the "waiting until GSW breaks up" approach, is a good approach for the Jazz.
The Jazz aren't known for being able to get big names to sign in free agency. And there are a limited number of opportunities to trade for true difference making stars. We don't have the luxury of picking our time. We have to make the move when the opportunity presents itself.
All year, we've had trouble scoring against good defenses.
Denver is so more well set both now and in the future then the Jazz are.
We shoot a fair amount of threes, but don't make them at a high percentage... good teams can take away the paint... if we shoot well we win... if not we lose.
I think shooting threes is the right call doe... we suck in mid range. We just need a few more shooters to space things out or convert the shots when teams pack it in.
Jokic is absolutely a better player than Mitchell but we're incredibly lucky to have the best guy to throw at Jokic in a series in Gobert to lock him down. Denver has the best player in the series but the Jazz would have the best foil for him in the league while also not really having anyone to throw at Mitchell themselves. They don't have Donovan Mitchell so no they aren't. We have the best player, and that's what the NBA is all about. We just have to support him better than inconsistent non-shooting PG's and non-shooting PF's.
We only have one guy who can put the ball down, use some wiggle and hesitation and create a shot for himself. Everything else has to be created out of pick and roll. Teams that know how to switch on us effectively and guard the pick and roll can shut a lot of our options down and leave Mitchell to go 1 on 2 or 1 on 3. Teams that don't have an obvious defensive weakness make it hard for Mitchell to break the defense down and score efficiently. Hence, we need at least one more person who can create with the ball.
Oh my god this is brilliant.Dante Exhume

Not disagreeing with you... but if you surround the Rudy Gobert pick and roll with shooters it is really hard to stop... guys have to cheat in.
I think shooting is the low hanging fruit... finding another driver/creator that is also a shooter is difficult. So yeah if you can get the creator do it... but our inconsistency has a lot to do with just not having enough good shooters and adding a high variance to the game by shooting a good amount of threes.
Oh my god this is brilliant.
Makes me want to make a custom jersey.LOL, totally. Can't take credit though. Mellow said he was Exhumed.
We're going to draft Tyler Herro aren't we...
GS built slowly but made moves and got lucky along the way...
Traded Monta for Bogut...
Signed Iggy (they struck out in a couple other guys... they weren’t a contender at this point)
Realized Green was better than David Lee and made the change to the starting lineup.
Swapped out some role players along the way and avoided making some mistakes (like trading Klay for Love)
KD and Boogie kinda fell in their lap but their original build was incremental trades and improvements as opportunities presented themselves.
Right so I guess Jokic gets zero credit for the Nuggets holding onto the 1/2 seed the entire year even though he lost basically every other starter at some point during the season, and at one stage had like 3/5ths of his starting lineup out.Until I see Jokic do something in a big playoff game that matters, I'm not sold that he is some elite player. Sure he is an all purpose big and he's valuable, but Donovan has shown that he can take games over. He was our best player as we beat a good OKC team last year and beat Houston one time even though we didn't have our PG.
Jokic is surrounded by loads of players who spread the floor for him and allow him to work. Put him on a worse scoring team, and he isn't as impactful. Put Donovan on the worst team in the NBA, and they are relevant.
