Jazz ban 2nd fan for calling Westbrook "boy"

I don’t know what is and isn’t racist anymore. This whole thing has been crazy. I guess just don’t talk to them is the safe thing to do.

As non-american I can tell you that USA is one ****ed up country. And as it happened to many empires in the history it's going to go to ****. I predict it happens in this century for sure.

Here's a tip, if you aren't sure something you want to say might be be racist, it probably is.
I would be interesting if we came up with a list of offensive words and phrases that might not be known by everyone though.

Also sometimes you don't have to say anything at all and you are racist without even knowing why.

I guess if you are a white man in Utah you have great power to offend and trigger everyone of every other race and sex.
With great power comes great responsibility.

This whole thing has been crazy and really bad.

Listening to David Locke today it is very apparent that the NBA views Utah as racist white people.

I honestly never realized this was an issue.
I have never heard a racist comment at a public event let alone a jazz game. Or at least I didn’t think it was.

Unfortunately we are going to be scrutinized because we are mostly white. We don’t choose are skin color, but it is what it is.

We need to play it safe and just don’t heckle opposing players or fans at all. Like Gail said let’s just Cheer for the Jazz instead.

I don't think that's a great idea. There are plenty of books and essays examining the myriad ways our culture has and continues to marginalize POC, for anyone who wants to get educated on the topic.

It's honestly not hard. Calling black men 'boy' as a derogatory statement has been a thing literally as long as the N word. Come the **** on people.

Yeah I tend to agree here. To many whites “boy” is just “boy”.

But when someone takes even 5 seconds, or none in many cases, to think about it the clear historical racism attached to “boy” is undeniable. Might as well call him “monkey”.

Glad that dude got banned. To me he clearly knew nd was doing it intentionally.
