I've heard Karl Malone used to do stuff like this but not report it. Hopefully there are a lot of NBA players doing these things under the radar. Joe Ingles has said he plans on giving a lot his money away.
We know a lot of ex-NBA players end up bankrupt because they irresponsibly start supporting way to many of their friends and family back home.
I like that Donovan is giving back responsibly. There are those that believe charity should be done in secret, but I'm hoping the publicity of SpidaCares will encourage other NBA players to do similar things. (If you've read the Sermon on the Mount it boils down to "Alms in secret" vs "Let your light so shine")
