Leftist attacks Conservative on UC Berkeley Campus

Well you see, pal, I didn't read this entire thread. And I don't read most of what is posted on JF, either, because I have a job and a family and, you know, personal interests that don't include ranting endlessly against complete strangers about politics. I DO know Fish well enough, though, to feel compelled to defend him, after reading what I felt was Hack's unfair treatment of him. Kudos to Hack for having some class, engaging respectfully, and acknowledging a general need for more moderate thinking. Maybe I didn't articulate myself well, but he, at least, got what I was saying. It doesn't look to me like you took time to establish context before responding to me. But you know what? I forgive you; hopefully you can now sleep at night, resume your regular eating and bathrooming routine, etc.

Guy is a substanceless idiot. Don't let him get to you.

Look at my thumbs/post ratio. ****ing elite. Bet you're jealous.

I fully acknowledge your superiority, but I would not say that I'm jealous. If I were worried about popularity, most of my discussions with aintnuthin would never have happened.

Do you concede the office of Most Prominent Leftist then?

You don't read the website much but know hack consistently posts one sided gobldegook and needs to be more moderate. Gotcha.

God, dude. Is your andropause just constantly raging, or what? I've been a member of this community for 9 years. I can read 20% of what's posted and get a pretty good feel for the regulars.

Yes, but you don't have enough posts for me to concede it to you.

You have to look at post rate, not simply total posts. Zombie has posted 2700 in 8 years! I have 1400 in 5 months! Also, and I might be wrong on this one, but the guy is from Wyoming. A very non-leftist state. This is the DNC favoring the establishment figures all over again.

I've always valued quality over quantity :)

The Wyoming part is true, though I live in a college town, so it's the blue island in a sea of red.

This is who the left really is. They arent the victims. They are the perpetrators.

This reply is a bit late to this thread, but I'm going to counter your above assertion by noting, that in 2018, there were at least 50 murders in the United States that were committed by right-wing extremists. I do not believe the number of murders committed by "The Left" came close to matching this:

https://www.voanews.com/a/in-2018-a...ing-right-wing-extremist-attacks/4846707.html

"The deadly mosque shootings in New Zealand last week by a gunman who promoted an anti-immigrant manifesto coincide with a surge in the incidents of right-wing extremist killings in the U.S.

Last year, domestic extremists killed at least 50 people in the U.S., up from 37 murders in 2017, according to the Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism, which tracks such murders. The last five years have produced a higher number of extremist-related murders than any other five-year period since 1970, according to the ADL.

Mark Pitcavage, a senior fellow at the Center on Extremism, said that every one of the perpetrators of last year’s murders had ties to at least one right-wing movement.

The majority of the murders were committed by white supremacists, with a smaller number perpetrated by anti-government extremists and extreme misogynists who identify as "involuntary celibates" or incels, Pitcavage said.

While a few high-profile incidents such as the massacre of 11 Jewish worshippers by white supremacist Robert Bowers at a Pittsburgh synagogue last October have been widely reported, others have received scant attention."

Oh god here we go...

Oh god here we go...

But where are we going? I did not say "this is 'The Right'", nor would I. Each individual is responsible for their own actions. I did find the assertion that "'the left' are the perpetrators" a tad askew given the actual trends noted in the United States. But, regardless of whatever motivating ideologies may inspire/influence the actions of any individual, the responsibility always lies with the individual and not political ideological abstractions. Political abstractions like "The Left" or "The Right" do not commit violent acts. Individuals commit violent acts.

You quoted Hack in a post critical of the right and guns. You’ve opened Pandora’s box. No one knows where this will go.

For all we know those could be fake hate crimes or mislabeled perpetrators. . After Jussie Smollett and the Covington Catholic high school incident, I am forced to believe that I cant believe everything that is reported since none of it is fact checked and its all bipartisan. Unfortunately thats the reality we will live in today.

Dont blame me. Blame yourself for supporting and defending hackery bipartisan news coverage. Should have listened when you were warned it would lead to this.

I have you pegged as a troll version of devils advocate. Take that how ever you want.

Thats kind of accurate really.

Ive thought about this before. I know I would probably be pointing out the things wrong with Trump if say 90% of the country was in favor for him. Something inside me always wants to balance things out. When it comes to sports I find myself rooting for the underdog almost always.

I feel like Trump and the right are the underdogs and the ones being unfairly attacked and are at a disadvantage against the media coverage on the left.

Its not all that, but it probably does play some part in my thinking. I try to be honest with myself as much as possible.
