What's new

The next 2 games are a must lose!

Changed my mind. Bring everyone back to kick the **** out of Denver, then rest everyone against LA on Wednesday

Ummm...you act as if winning or losing against the Clippers is actually in the Jazz' control. Utah just lost to the Lakers led by McGee, Muscala, KCP and Caruso! No Lebron, no Hart, Ingram or Kuzma. Gobert, Mitchell and Ingles ought to lose a paycheck. Can't blame this one on Rubio.

I honestly hope Utah DOESN'T face Portland. Losing to Kanter and Hood may cause Gobert's nads to permanently recede in embarassment.
Doom and gloom

I will take any scenario where we don't play the Warriors until the WCF. Take whatever route you can to bypass them in the 2nd round. Rockets, blazers, nuggets... I don't give a ****! But I don't want to see the warriors until WCF.

I wouldnt want to see Houston in round 1 even if it meant avoiding GS in round 2 cause there is no way we beat Houston imo.

Houston is 20-3 in their last 23 games. The three losses were a 1 point loss to Memphis in overtime and a loss to the bucks and a 2 point loss to the warriors.

They are healthy and rolling. They have no weakness. Harden scores 50 points with ease, cp3 is still good and destroyed us last year. Capela is playing great lately and destroyed us last year. Eric Gordon, pj tucker round out an amazing starting 5.

Nene, rivers, faried, Gerald green, and shumpert is a pretty damn good bench.

Ah, it is. Must be fun rooting for a team full of players you have contempt for.

Don't forget about our greedy, horrible front office

When I first started connecting with Jazz fans online (late 90's) this constituted about 80% of their fan base.

There were very few "Utah Jazz" fans - most of them were Stockton/Malone and (maybe) Hornacek fans that didn't seem to like much else about the players or the organization.

Wow ….. Portland is young and athletic in the frontline with a great 3 guard rotation
Houston is on fire and Harden destroys Rubio and DM
And Denver just might be the deepest team and play who's hot

So I think Jazz try to win out and keep the winning edge going to start the playoffs , all those games they should have won has bit them in the as$

Clippers intentionally lose to get to 6th spot back in 2006. They were able to avoid the matchup against the Spurs/ Mavs and made a pretty good playoffs run because of it.

I'd prefer to punish Denver by beating them and having the Rockets beat the Thunder. Cowards would then be the 3rd seed with Rockets the 2nd, and their disgraceful tank tonight will have completely backfired.

It really feels like they are over-thinking things here... way too much they don't control.

I have always been of the belief that you never lose games on purpose to force a particular playoff matchup. It will come back to haunt us. Karma always finds a way to bite you in the ***. Plus, I want the Jazz to win 50+ games...so **** this idea, win out!

Yep, this^^^^
Don't play games with the game, man.
Just play the game the right way, with no gamesmanship.

Wait what?

Are some people here fearful of Portland? Seriously? Personally, I think they’d be a breeze. That’s an easy 5-6 game series for us. Their inside presence sucks and all they have is D-lil.

Houston would be worse case scenario but I'm not sure how much making/winning an extra round of the playoffs matters. They will be motivated to avoid GS ( I think) and I expect them to take care of OKC. Hopefully Denver costs themselves the #2 seed and homecourt advantage in the second round (if they make it that far).

If CJ is healthy we could absolutely lose to Portland. Losing Nurkic is a big blow for them but Collins is okayish and Meyers Leonard has never missed a shot against the Jazz.. like ever.

Not afraid of anyone but Portland is still going to be a tough out for us... and may very well beat us. Not worth telling guys or coaches - "Lose the game tonight because we are terrified of team x and will dominate team y".

I must be missing something but I’d much rather face Portland than Denver.

But really, it’s almost a wash.

I just don’t want OKC in the first round. I think they would avenge last year’s loss and that would be bitter. Westbrook would never let us forget it.

Lol what???

We lose to Portland? Seriously? Some of you must’ve missed them last year in the playoffs. And they were healthier and better last year. Ed Davis gave us fits with his length and activity.

They have no one to match us up inside. And as long as we have a healthy Mitchell, Dlil will be cancels out.

Some of you are vastly overrating Portland. I’d much rather face them than OKC, Houston, or Denver.

They got run last year but Holidays defense was amazing and Rondo played really well... AD was healthy and everywhere... they overwhelmed them with perimeter speed and athleticism. We aren’t like NO. Playoffs are about styles... Portland has played us pretty well last two years. We allow teams to shoot midrange and CJ and Dame can do that.

I think we’d beat them and I’d rather play them than Houston and maybe OKC... but we ain’t exactly healthy and we aren’t good enough to be super cocky against anyone.
