Game Of Thrones

So is it cool at this point if we discuss S1-7 without spoilers?

Some of the plot stuff that drove me nuts ended up turning out well for the storyline but it was still eyerolling.

Tyrion's champion dying. Watching that, you knew exactly what was going to happen. Typical scene where the underdog takes a dominating position only to wait to long and get stabbed, then head exploded. It worked out well for the story but the way it was done was just stupid. Ok fight scene though I guess.

The religious fanatics stuff. Again, worked out well for the story but it was complete trash. Jeffrey dies, the Hand follows suit and suddenly the royalty loses all power for poorly explained/set up reason? Just stupid. Here, let's insert religion and change the power structure completely in one or two episodes. And the audience can guess exactly where it leads with Cersei's manipulation leaving her coming out on top. And then she has a nun serially raped as her revenge. OK, I have to admit I was rooting for Cersei there for some odd reason, but still.

It was 7/10 for me.

I was primed for emotion. Seeing Arya standing there not being noticed, I was already tearing up.

But then it never really delivered the emotion I expected with Jon reuniting with the Starks.

Good stuff, and a good first episode, but this is not the first of 10 episodes, this is the first of the the last 6. I might have balled my face off to this episode. I didn't do that. It never hit hard enough for that.

I'm pumped, though. 5 more to go!

Hmm I actually really liked that episode. Reunions, crazy moment with that little kid on the wall screaming(I jumped out of my seat), some LOL moments. I realized there is a lot I had forgotten like that was Sam's Dad & Brother who got roasted by Dany's Dragon.

There are some character catch ups available on HBO demand I recommend watching those. I just watched the one with Maisie Williams, she's pretty entertaining to listen to, she's like yeah now that I think about it that was a pretty brutal way Arya killed that one guy.

No bloody murders. Booo. And Cersei shags the Iron fleet captain and there’s no bouncing boobies ??!!! Outrage !!

The plot points came together quite well. So many characters have a history with one another. Nice entrance by Jaime Lannister only to run into Brandon Stark.

I still think that Sam Tarley should be making wildfire to fight the walking dead.

I could have used a few murders, always like a few murders...

The nerds are super bitchy about this episode. Nerds aren't going to be happy with the private, flirty nature that is danny and jon. Nerds aren't going to be happy with gentle hugs and warm handshakes of characters, some of which hasn't seen each other since the first season. Nerds aren't going to be happy with a pound of saltiness out of Sansa and our true queen, the true Azor Ahai, Lyanna Mormont.

But this episode served it's purpose. Re-introduction to the relationships among the characters, furthering that Dany's happy about humping Jon's brains out, Jon learning it was his aunt that took his seed. And then the big moment that won't be addressed until next week; Bran waiting in one spot for Jamie to turn around even before Jamie has arrived.

In the long run, Bran's going to forgive him, and team incesteral rights will accept him, but does Bran make a stink of it amongst the townsfolk and let everyone know Jamie's the reason he's paralyzed?

The smart thing to do would be to lead the wights onto a battlefield that's been soaked with wildfire, put pots of wildfire about to serve as landmines, have one of the dragons ignite the fuseline and just encircle the effers in flames.

They wont do that though. They'll make Podrick swing away with a sword.

If the dead make it as far a King's landing, that will be a decent strategy. There is no wildfire at Winterfell, and no alchemists there to make it.
