Gamethread: Game 1 of the 1st Round. Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets. 7:30 MST

Imagine if Utah went out of the norm and made a trade to get a 3rd star. This game proves the Jazz aren't even close to good enough.

Houston switches a lot on defense. They are comfortable shutting down your system and making someone beat them 1 on 1. All those easy things like Ingles look off layups are taken away on switches.
Long story short is someone has to step up big time and be the man. We have only one player that can do it, DM.

AKA a tweak. A minor adjustment. It takes two to make a deal and he made a major play for a legit PG or are we going to ignore all the reports from Jan - Feb?

He needs to land a major move. So let’s talk about it right. Not this tweak ********. Which is both in factual and missing the point.
How many teams made moves at the deadline this year alone? All but 4. 4. Utah was one of the 4 who did nothing.

Lol everyone around here loved that video that suggested we do exactly this. I see a few positive adjustments that can be made, it is a game of percentages. (Alley oops are high percentage though...)

We’ll see. Definitely could have been a better half...

Can't wait for the local media (Locke, DJ&PK, etc.) to somehow spin this disaster tomorrow. They refuse to criticize Dennis Lindsay and Quinn Snyder. It drives me ****ing insane. Quinn, WTF were you thinking betting on leaving the BEST corner 3 shooter (Tucker shooting at around 56% from corner 3 this year) open time and time again. This game plan has been a $hitshow so far.

The loss of Exum looms large..

The one possession where Neto dribbles the shotclock out and takes a contorted impossible baseline J over CP3 pretty much sums up the first half.
Houston is the one team where this team desperately needs a player like Exum who can keep up with Harden and he's hurt as always. Doesn't help that Snyder's scheme is to let Harden get a runway into the paint every time he has the ball though.

Turnovers and not covering the Harden drives with leaving guys wide open is the big difference in the game.
